…onto The Nelson for Stormblast – which although quieter than recent weeks was still damned good fun. Town generally seemed utterly dead anyway, last night.
The second phase of tcf ended at this point, as I was unexpectedly offered the chance to take over Thursdays at The Nelson, too – which resulted in the metal that I was playing shifting to Stormblast.
Anytime I get given a [demo] CD with a “produced by [famous name]” I’m gonna at least take a look. As in this case, with “Produced by Gregor Mackintosh [Paradise Lost]” on the front. Last night was good fun. Not too bad a turnout.
It was a short run, but the weekly nights in Huddersfield came to an end the week I moved to Sheffield. They would continue monthly for a little while longer.
The second generation of tcf, if you will, began at The Nelson in June 2004, and began a near-weekly run for quite some time.

The fourth night of tcf at the West Riding. Back to just me again, and maybe by this point there was already evidence of widening tastes.
My very first DJ set, which seems like a lifetime ago. This was in what was then Huddersfield’s rock pub, The West Riding (now long gone). I had been complaining about the lack of decent music (and DJing) in past weeks. So earlier in the year, I was challenged to do it myself.
