/Tuesday Ten /611 /Denial Is A River
Denial can take many forms. It can be public denials, it can be denials to friends and lovers, it can be denial to yourself.

Welcome to /Countdown/2022 – this year’s wrap-up of the best new music that I’ve heard across the year. I begin as usual, with the best compilations and reissues in no particular order, although it should be noted that as is the norm these days, there are a whole lot of reissues coming through.
Into 2022 and the cold, grey January, and on the first Friday of 2022, it is time for my traditional round-up of what we know about (relevant) new music coming your way in 2022. What do I mean by relevant? Broadly, that means music I might cover here, which to be honest, these days, covers […]
Into December, and with Bandcamp today, the usual Christmas release desert is pushed back by a week, it seems. /Countdown/2021 began last Tuesday with /Countdown/2021/Compilations and re-issues, and I’ve finally begun clearing the interview mountain. In the meantime, here’s the usual wrap of new music and suchlike this week.

The latter half of 2021 has not quite worked out as I had planned on /amodelofcontrol.com. While I’ve kept the /Tuesday Ten series running, other coverage has had to take quite a bit of a backseat while other elements of life have had to be prioritised.
Another busy week of new music and upcoming announcements – not to mention lots of choice on the Livestream front, too. In addition, I’ve overhauled the events page in a big way, so see the link further down for that. Livestreams and waiting for new releases seem to be the order of the day, for […]
Bandcamp Friday last week was so busy that I’ve got yet more releases from it to mention this week, and it’s busy enough anyway this week. In addition, I’ve overhauled the events page in a big way, so see the link further down for that. Livestreams and waiting for new releases seem to be the […]
Into the last month of this bizarre, weird year – and this weekly release and events roundup keeps on going. There is still new music to enjoy, hence why I continue these Friday posts. The events listing is still being updated, but obviously, an awful lot is being postponed, cancelled or changed right now.
Back into lockdown, and this weekly release and events roundup reaches /150. There is still new music to enjoy, hence why I continue these Friday posts. The events listing is still being updated, but obviously, an awful lot is being postponed, cancelled or changed right now.
We keep going amid the lockdown. There are new releases, and still, new music coming through, and buying music right now is the only way we can help. The events listing is still being updated, but obviously, an awful lot is being postponed, cancelled or changed right now.

Another Friday, another round-up. As always this is a look at upcoming releases, relevant music news and upcoming events and gigs worth spending some of your time at. It is by no means an exhaustive list, and I’m always on the lookout for more to include.
Back to normal this week, with the best tracks of the past month.
This has been a quiet year.
Lesley Rankine’s career in music now spans a few decades, and more than a few styles. She first came to prominence in the vicious, no-wave influenced punkish-rock of Silverfish, a fixture of the Camden scene in the early 90s and unusual in their strident politics and just how confrontational they were. The band toured with […]
This is part two of my look back at 1996, where I continue what I started in Tuesday Ten: 250 by looking at releases that were broadly in February/March of that year.
