Corp was an utter blast, even if was nearing totally wasted by the end of my second set (and to my shame not realising ’til today that I played one song twice). Oops. Thanks to all that came along to support me.

The Batfink Midsummer Nightmare last night was damned good fun, with a great-looking turnout (both in numbers and in how they all looked), loads of people I’d not seen in ages, and a few people I had not met before, either…and the only downside being not enough time to catch up with them all!
…onto Judder for a good five hours plus of madness – then sleep, food and a wander ’round town, then back up to Sheffield at nearly the corresponding time that we left at yesterday.
Aside from a few technical issues, it was good fun – although I still can’t get used to the almost total darkness of the venue!
Last night’s late finish was thanks to my guest DJ slot at Resurrected in Leeds. As it turned out, it was a pretty good night. Having never been to The George before, and despite being warned, I was still surprised over just how small (and dark!) it actually is. Nice place though, and good to […]
it was a quick dash through the late evening onto Quarantine, where the turnout was pretty good, as it goes, for 3ulogy’s live appearance. What did surprise me first off was that the Hubs venue seems better suited to live bands than club nights – the cavernous rooms do nothing for club sound, as I […]
Malice In Wonderland at The Nelson last night was more than a little strange. A good turnout – with many different people from the norm – some real effort gone into by the organisers (I was only helping out by DJing!), and more than anything it was pretty good fun. With a slightly different emphasis […]
The night is a slightly odd one – a mix of rocksoc people, other students and indie kids – so I got the chance to play a few things I have not played in a long time! The attendence is still probably below what is needed, but better than I have seen. Now the flyers […]
For the first eighteen months of tcf, it was a bit of a shotgun marriage between industrial and (ever-extreme) metal.
The third and longest phase of tcf began here, as my previous night split into two. tcf very much changed after this point, as we began to explore the outer realms of industrial that bit more.
The second phase of tcf ended at this point, as I was unexpectedly offered the chance to take over Thursdays at The Nelson, too – which resulted in the metal that I was playing shifting to Stormblast.
The turnout was way higher than I had expected, to be totally honest, which was great. The bands went down well, despite a somewhat ropey sound – especially for 3ulogy, whose set seemed an experimental one and also somewhat subdued. Although their power live still far outstrips anything they have recorded thus far. Neon Zoo […]
Bringing down the curtain on the first run of tcf, and ending my ties with Huddersfield – particularly as the West Riding closed not that much longer after I left.
Black Sheep last night was loads of fun. A busy night, and it was really warm in that small club.
The latter was a bit crap, really – the usual disorganisation etc (my setlist below, I’m going to keep the rest of my views away from here).
Last night was good fun. Not too bad a turnout.
Attendance was small, but good to see those that did make the effort, thanks for coming down. For what it’s worth I was not entirely keen on it being on a Sunday evening either. Some fascinating rumour/conjecture at the end of the night, ears to the ground on that one.
It was a short run, but the weekly nights in Huddersfield came to an end the week I moved to Sheffield. They would continue monthly for a little while longer.
The second generation of tcf, if you will, began at The Nelson in June 2004, and began a near-weekly run for quite some time.
This was my first guest DJ appearance in Leeds, and was at the now long-gone Phono, as a guest of Phono Paul at the Sunday night institution in Leeds that was Black Sheep. Only my set is listed.
