A baker’s dozen of new tracks this month. Release announcements for 2026 are now in full swing, which means it can be tough to keep up…
We’re nearing the end of the year, which means I’m now considering the best of 2023, and releases for the new year are now continuing to filter through too. This post is a roundup of (relevant to this site) new and upcoming music, a nod to upcoming events and livestreams both from this website and […]
The final /Tracks of the Month of 2023 – or more to the point, the last before I unleash /Countdown /2023, wrapping up the best music of the year.
Continuing the amodelofcontrol.com review of 2022, which this week turns attention to the best tracks of the year. Next week will be the wrap of the best albums of 2022.
Well into August already, and here’s this week’s new release roundup. Anyway. This post is a roundup of (relevant to this site) new and upcoming music, a nod to upcoming events and livestreams both from this website and others and also a catchup of what I’ve posted recently. Thanks to everyone who sends me new […]
As we hurtle through 2022 and crash into summer, here’s the latest set of new music to get you going.
Less releases this week, at least compared to the last few weeks… The post, then, is a roundup of (relevant to this site) new and upcoming music, a nod to upcoming events and livestreams both from this website and others, and also a catchup of what I’ve posted recently. Thanks to everyone who sends me […]
Into 2022 and the cold, grey January, and on the first Friday of 2022, it is time for my traditional round-up of what we know about (relevant) new music coming your way in 2022. What do I mean by relevant? Broadly, that means music I might cover here, which to be honest, these days, covers […]
Now away from the working week for a bit, it has given me time to start catching up. It is, again, Bandcamp Friday today, so along with last week’s releases, there’s an awful lot to cover today. In the meantime, here’s the usual wrap of new music and suchlike this week.
Back into lockdown, and this weekly release and events roundup keeps on going. There is still new music to enjoy, hence why I continue these Friday posts. The events listing is still being updated, but obviously, an awful lot is being postponed, cancelled or changed right now.
Maybe I just listen to a lot of angry music, maybe it’s a side of me I prefer to let out in the music I listen to, either way, I’ve written a lot in the Tuesday Ten series about the darker side of human nature (related, previous posts are in the sidebar). So I was […]
Here are ten more songs and artists you should hear about, that have been rocking my world over the past month.
It’s been a week of numbers. What with Daisy and mine’s sixth anniversary, yesterday being a year of me being in my current job, and at least two 40th birthdays in the past week – not to mention Daisy’s Grandparents’ 60th wedding anniversary in three weeks time, and with nuclear fears in the news again […]
I think it took until the dawn of this year’s Infest until I realised just how much I missed the festival in its year off last year. All it took was a few minutes of being back in (nearly) familiar surroundings, of which more in a moment, with various familiar faces of friends new and […]
It was of course the return of VNV Nation to the venue, and a big, big crowd – it can’t have been far from selling out – as there always seems to be whenever they come to ‘town.
Last night’s gig was a pretty strange one.
