/Welcome to the Future /310 /Events, Livestreams and New Releases 28-Aug 2026

The latest roundup of new releases as summer winds down.

This post is a roundup of (relevant to this site) new and upcoming music, a nod to upcoming events and livestreams both from this website and others, and also a catchup of what I’ve posted recently. Thanks to everyone who sends me new music and events, keeps me up to speed, and indeed simply reads these posts.

/amodelofcontrol.com now has a Patreon page, at this stage purely as a potential way of helping to cover the running costs of the site. There is absolutely no compulsion to do so: if you feel you can chuck a small amount to the site each month, that would be appreciated.

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/024, which starts on the letter P. /transmission/025 will follow soon – at last!

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Bluesky (@amodelofcontrol).

/Contents

/Releases out today or recently

/Album of the Week

07-Aug 2026 / Spike Hellis / Successor / Bandcamp
The new album from Spike Hellis is outstanding, modern industrial that is genuinely sounding fresh and new, rather than picking over the carcass of the past.

/New Albums

07-Aug 2026 / Din of Celestial Birds / Takeoffs & Landings / Bandcamp
A great album of uplifting, melodic post-rock.
07-Aug 2026 / Electric Callboy / TANZNEID / Official Artist Store
The German sextet are back to have us moshing and singing along at the same time all over again.
07-Aug 2026 / The Anchoress / As We Once Were / Official Label Store
I really wanted to like this so much more than I did, and maybe it needs more listens.
21-Aug-26 / Chelsea Wolfe / The Dark / Bandcamp
Chelsea Wolfe returns, with a subtle shifting of her sound that makes most of their sound more accessible.
21-Aug 2026 / Fen / ELEMENTAL Part One: MOURNING EARTH / Bandcamp
The British Black Metal veterans return with their best album in aeons.
21-Aug 2026 / The Afghan Whigs / Soft Control / Official Artist Store
40 years of the beloved Afghan Whigs is marked by an excellent new album.
28-Aug 2026 / Mildreda / Realities / Bandcamp
There’s an awful lot to this album – eighteen tracks-worth – that digs into the concept of reality itself.
28-Aug 2026 / Russian Circles / Nine / Bandcamp
The Chicago post-metal titans are back: leaner and heavier than for some time.
28-Aug 2026 / Saul Williams / Leap Life / Bandcamp
The first album in seven years for the ever-fascinating polymath (poet, performer, actor, artist…).

/New Singles/EPs

30-Jul 2026 / Muta-scuM / The Hope / Bandcamp
The Manchester noisy-electronics artist is back with an excellent new EP
04-Aug 2026 / Eye New Dark / Adore EP / Bandcamp
Following on from a couple of great singles, Jill Sullivan pushes forward with a new EP.
07-Aug 2026 / NAUT / Bury Your Freedom / Bandcamp
A second excellent single from NAUT this year – bring on a new album, I say.
07-Aug 2026 / VL7NYZ / VL7NYZ_001 / Bandcamp
An excellent EP of industrial from an artist I know nothing about.

/New Compilations, Live Albums, Reissues

07-Aug 2026 / mclusky / My Pain and Sadness Is More Sad and Painful Than Yours (2026 Remaster) / Bandcamp
Completing the remasters of their earlier albums, mclusky turn their attention to their debut.
07-Aug 2026 / Zeal and Ardor / Devil Is Fine X / Bandcamp
Still as extraordinary as when it first appeared, the debut from Zeal and Ardor gets a bit of a brush-up.
07-Aug 2026 / Caustic / UNFIENDED / Bandcamp
Remixes and an unexpected cover make up the latest Caustic release.
07-Aug 2026 / Pixel Grip / Percepticide: Remixed / Bandcamp
Pixel Grip have really blown up of late, and a remix album keeps up the pressure.
14-Aug 2026 / Portion Control / 1983-86 – Hit The Pulse to Purge… / Bandcamp
A sprawling, 4CD compilation of their earlier years shows that Portion Control’s quality control has always been exacting – this is a quite brilliant compilation.

/Upcoming Releases

/Upcoming Albums

25-Sep 2026 / Godflesh / Decay / Bandcamp
The final Godflesh album will doubtless crush us.
02-Oct 2026 / Ayria / 13 Stitches / Bandcamp
Jennifer Parkin bares her teeth again, judging on the first singles, with punchy industrial-electro.
02-Oct 2026 / Lustmord Lombardo / The Pulse of Atoms / Bandcamp
A collaboration I did not have on my bingo card for 2026: Lustmord and drumming legend Dave Lombardo.
30-Oct 2026 / Queens of the Stone Age / Perfecth / Official Artist Store
The ninth album from the desert rockers.
06-Nov 2026 / Prong / Prong / Bandcamp
Arguably Prong were doing Groove Metal before it was even a thing. And so hearing them still destroying is great.
13-Nov 2026 / The Body & Cel Genesis / Whole Wide World / Bandcamp
The Body are familiar with collaborations, Cel Genesis are new to this route. But with two drummers, a ton of electronics…this might be a whole fucking lot.
20-Nov 2026 / Desperate Journalist / Gilding The Lily / Official Artist Store
London art/post-punks Desperate Journalist, back with their sixth album (and as fascinating as ever).

/Upcoming EPs/Singles

None this week.

/Upcoming Compilations, Live Albums, Reissues

04-Sep 2026 / The Cassandra Complex / Generating Station Complex / Bandcamp
The Cassandra Complex return to their roots, with founding members reworking and recording classic songs anew.
19-Sep 2026 / SCALER / Endlessly (Deluxe) / Bandcamp
Scaler’s second album gets an expanded release, a year on.
16-Oct 2026 / Mentallo & The Fixer / Where Angels Fear to Tread / Bandcamp
A classic electro-industrial album, remastered and released on vinyl for the first time.

/Upcoming/Livestreams/Gigs/Club Nights/Events

/amodelofcontrol.com continues to maintain an events calendar, but it has now moved to /amodelofcontrol.com/events – and is now a dynamic, searchable database, and you can add individual events to your own calendars. The listing has had a new revamp and redesign as of September 2025.

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above. It goes without saying that any gig or club still in the listing is subject to change at short notice, or may not happen at all.
