Back after a week off for Whitby, another Friday, another round-up. As always this is a look at upcoming releases, relevant music news and upcoming events and gigs worth spending some of your time at. It is by no means an exhaustive list, and I’m always on the lookout for more to include.
Just before Whitby, I’m trying to get a few posts in to catch-up a bit. First up, today, is this month’s Tracks, but also to follow will be Transmission: 008 and hopefully at least one review that I’ve had in the works for a while.
Two Fridays on the trot out at small gigs in London, away from the centre. In recent years, particularly as rampant development has swept away much of the Alternative landscape from Central London, unexpected corners of the city have popped up as useful places to put on smaller gigs.

My habit of writing lengthy gig reviews often means that I don’t have the time to do some shows that I attend justice, so, this new Click Click series will hopefully mean I get to write more about the gigs I attend.

The seventh part of Transmission, the a-z of industrial. This continues our look at industrial music, and is this week all about bands beginning with “f”, and we’ll finish off this letter in 008.
I’ve long used Google Timeline, as I’m curious about just how far I do travel, and totting up some numbers for 2018 so far – and by chance, today is the day 100 of the year – provided some eye-opening numbers, going on the fact that I haven’t really gone very far this year, so […]

As we finally sweep out of a long winter, with the days getting longer at last, and the shoots of new growth visible, a cautious optimism returns. Part of that is down to the anticipation of things to come – there’s lots of fun stuff happening this summer and into the autumn, a few changes […]

Eleven years on – to the day – from the very first Tuesday Ten, and very first Tracks of the Month (Tuesday Ten: 001), this is Tuesday Ten: 326. The Tuesday Ten series always takes a break for about six weeks during December and into January, so there have been 506 weeks where I could […]
You are not entitled to anything, from any artist, and if you think you are, go and think about this again. “We owe you nothing You have no control” Fugazi – Merchandise Watch on Youtube This issue – one of entitlement – has reared it’s head again recently in a number of ways, most notably […]
The sixth part of Transmission, the a-z of industrial. This continues our look at industrial, and is this week all about bands beginning with “e”. It also features one of Daisy’s least favourite bands.

In December, The Cure mark 40 years since the release of their first single, Killing An Arab (based, of course, on elements of L’Étranger (The Stranger) by Albert Camus). And this June, Robert Smith of The Cure is curating the line-up at (a frankly epic) Meltdown this summer for the 25th Anniversary of that festival, […]
I’ve been meaning to write about a few of the gigs I’ve attended this year, but various things – not least my working day and other commitments – have rather reduced the time I’ve had to do so. I’ve seen a defiant Nadine Shah show at the Roundhouse, which while also being an emotional “dream […]

Trying to do a series on British Industrial has actually proven a little more difficult than I perhaps expected, partly my own fault due to issues with time and other commitments. But, following on from Talk Show Host: 043 with ded.pixel, I’m now continuing the series with a band with a near-unpronounceable name for many.
