/Welcome to the Future /286 /Events, Livestreams and New Releases 28-Mar 2025

A bit more time this month has allowed a more regular posting schedule.

This post is a roundup of (relevant to this site) new and upcoming music, a nod to upcoming events and livestreams both from this website and others, and also a catchup of what I’ve posted recently. Thanks to everyone who sends me new music and events, keeps me up to speed, and indeed simply reads these posts.

/Events, Livestreams and New Releases 28-Mar 2025
/Previous /285/14-Mar /284/21-Feb /283/31-Jan

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/024, which starts on the letter P. /transmission/025 will follow soon – at last!

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/Contents

/Releases out today or recently

/Album of the Week

21-Mar 2025 / Benefits / Constant Noise / Bandcamp
Benefits (mostly!) tone back the vicious noise-punk of the first album for more measured electronics, but make no mistake, the fury at what they see in the UK today is unabated.

/New Albums

21-Mar 2025 / Bloodywood / Nu Delhi / Bandcamp
East-meets-west again with Bloodywood’s stonking take on Nu-Metal.
21-Mar 2025 / Imperial Triumphant / Goldstar / Bandcamp
Black Metal, jazz and gilded-age New York collide on an extraordinary album.
21-Mar 2025 / YHWH Nailgun / 45 Pounds / Bandcamp
A twenty minute whirlwind of industrialised noise-rock and a tour-de-force of drumming.
28-Mar 2025 / Autodafeh / Greed / Bandcamp
These Swedish EBM veterans return after a long time away.
28-Mar 2025 / Korine / A Flame In The Dark / Bandcamp
This emotional synthpop duo return with their latest album.

/New Singles/EPs

14-Mar 2025 / Iszoloscope / Hex Blowback / Bandcamp
Yann has been a fixture of the noisier end of industrial for a longtime, and this is his first release on a new label.
25-Mar 2025 / Pixel Grip / Split / Bandcamp
A very different track from the visceral force of Stamina last year.

/New Compilations, Live Albums, Reissues

17-Mar 2025 / Various Artists / Blaktrax 1: In The Shadow Of St. Eanswythe / Bandcamp
A compilation of dark ambient and experimental artists from Folkestone and beyond.
28-Mar 2025 / Red Snapper / Reeled and Skinned (30th Anniversary Edition) / Bleep
A classic – and maybe a little overlooked – slice of electronic beats meets jazz gets a brushup and recontextualising for it’s thirtieth birthday.

/Upcoming Releases

/Upcoming Albums

04-Apr 2025 / Ghost Twin / Industrial Symphony No. 1 / Bandcamp
After the unimaginable tragedy of losing her husband and bandmate, Karen Asmundson has perhaps surprisingly elected to continue with Ghost Twin, and the first release is a recording of a David Lynch tribute that they did.
13-Jul 2025 / The Young Gods / Appear Disappear / Official Band Store
Marking their fortieth anniversary as a band this year, the new album from The Young Gods was announced this week, with the bruising, thrilling title track promising much.

/Upcoming EPs/Singles

04-Apr 2025 / Glass Apple Bonzai / Bag of Bones / Bandcamp
There’s a new album coming later in the year, but in the meantime, some remixes and outtakes from the last – excellent – GAB album.
04-Apr 2025 / Mari Kattman / Anemia / Bandcamp
Ahead of a new album, the new single from Mari Kattman
08-Apr 2025 / Bellhead / Threats / Bandcamp
This two-bass duo with a new single and some interesting remixes.
11-Apr 2025 / Warrington Runcorn Development Plan / Overspill Estates EP / Juno Records
The last part of last year’s album in a new EP.
16-May 2025 / Youth Code / Yours, With Malice / Official Label Store
Youth Code return after a long absence with fierce new material and some tour dates.

/Upcoming Compilations, Live Albums, Reissues

23-May 2025 / Suede / Sci-Fi Lullabies (Expanded) / Official Artist Store
The greatest B-sides compilation ever released – so good that the first CD stakes a good claim to be the band’s best album – gets a lavish reissue, and brings us up-to-date with a third disc of subsequent B-sides too.

/Upcoming/Livestreams/Gigs/Club Nights/Events

/amodelofcontrol.com continues to maintain an events calendar, but it has now moved to /amodelofcontrol.com/events – and is now a dynamic, searchable database, and you can add individual events to your own calendars. The listing has had a revamp and redesign (and I’m re-adding events, so it’s a bit of a work in progress).

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above. It goes without saying that any gig or club still in the listing is subject to change at short notice, or may not happen at all.
