/Welcome to the Future /262 /Events, Livestreams and New Releases 01-Dec 2023

The last month of the year, and the /Countdown /2023 roundup begins this Tuesday. What are your favourites this year?

This post is a roundup of (relevant to this site) new and upcoming music, a nod to upcoming events and livestreams both from this website and others, and also a catchup of what I’ve posted recently. Thanks to everyone who sends me new music and events, keeps me up to speed, and indeed simply reads these posts.

/Previous /261/17-Nov /260/03-Nov /259/20-Oct

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/024, which starts on the letter P. /transmission/025 will follow soon – at last!

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/Releases out today or recently

/Album of the Week

29-Nov 2023 / Panopticon / The Rime of Memory / Bandcamp
The wild, mind-expanding Black Metal of Panopticon is back for more, with an album looking at the passage of time, facing extinction, the climate crisis and more. Your regular Black Metal this is not!

/New Albums

20-Nov 2023 / Severe Illusion / Totalitarianism For A New Generation / Official Label Store
Apparently unavailable online aside from buying the CD, this first release from the EBM act in some time is apparently pretty good according to I Die: You Die.
28-Nov 2023 / Binary Order / The Future Belongs To The Mad / Bandcamp
This relatively new British industrial/metal act release their new album.
28-Nov 2023 / Pulverise / Kilobyte Killer / Bandcamp
A cracking new mini-album from Leeds rap-metal crew Pulverise, with involvement from Billy of Biohazard in the production.
30-Nov 2023 / REIN / God Is A Woman / Bandcamp
REIN’s second album of EBM/electronics at last.
01-Dec 2023 / Mildreda / Blue-Devilled / Bandcamp
The first Mildreda album was a great resurrection of classic electro-industrial, and the new one is just as good.
01-Dec 2023 / Peter Gabriel / I/O / Bandcamp
It’s taken over twenty years, but a new Peter Gabriel album exists at last – and you know what? It’s actually pretty good…

/New Singles/EPs

10-Nov 2023 / Silent Weapon / The Fear of the Possibility of Chaos / Bandcamp
An intense performance at Infest piqued the interest, and Umair Chaudhry leans here into surprisingly upbeat noisy industrial territory.
20-Nov 2023 / Caustic / Buggy / Bandcamp
A weird trip into dubby, woozy industrial by Matt Fanale.
24-Nov 2023 / Where We Sleep / Bang Bang / Bandcamp
A quite excellent, sultry new single from Beth Rettig’s latest project.
01-Dec 2023 / Bootblacks / Wilderness / Bandcamp
Another sleek new single from this most forward-looking post-punk band.
01-Dec 2023 / Me The Tiger / Post Denial War / Spotify
The first new single from Me The Tiger in some time.
01-Dec 2023 / Minor Threat / Out of Step Outtakes / Bandcamp
To mark the 40th anniversary of Minor Threat’s first release, a few outtakes from it.

/New Compilations, Live Albums, Reissues

01-Dec 2023 / Brainiac / Smack Bunny Baby (30th Anniversary) / Official Label Store
The excellent debut album from Brainiac gets a remaster and reissue.
01-Dec 2023 / Paradise Lost / ICON 30 / Official Artist Store
Paradise Lost return to their roots, with a re-working of their classic ICON for it’s 30th anniversary.

/Upcoming/Livestreams/Gigs/Club Nights/Events

Obviously, things change at short notice right now, and I’m updating events as they are postponed or cancelled, and also including relevant Livestreams as they are announced.

/amodelofcontrol.com continues to maintain an events calendar, but it has now moved to /amodelofcontrol.com/events – and is now a dynamic, searchable database, and you can add individual events to your own calendars. I’m currently fixing a couple of minor backend issues, so new events may not be added promptly, or be added sporadically.

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above. It goes without saying that any gig or club still in the listing is subject to change at short notice, or may not happen at all.
