/Welcome to the Future /251 /Events, Livestreams and New Releases 07-Jul 2023

Into July, and with some great new music coming our way.

This post is a roundup of (relevant to this site) new and upcoming music, a nod to upcoming events and livestreams both from this website and others, and also a catchup of what I’ve posted recently. Thanks to everyone who sends me new music and events, keeps me up to speed, and indeed simply reads these posts.

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/024, which starts on the letter P. /transmission/025 will follow soon – at last!

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/Contents

/Releases out today or recently

/Album of the Week

04-Jul 2023 / Black Agent / Dehumanized / Bandcamp
A second album within a year or so of punchy electro-industrial.

/New Albums

05-May 2023 / Daniel Myer / Hingabe / Bandcamp
I missed this previously: Daniel Myer releases a quite great industrial/techno album under his own name.
28-Jun 2023 / Brutalist Architecture In The Sun / Loneliness Kills / Bandcamp
Outstanding darkwave from Kent.
30-Jun 2023 / Body of Light / Bitter Reflection / Bandcamp
Another cracking album of thoughtful, lovelorn synthpop by this US duo.
07-Jul 2023 / Fen / Monuments to Absence / Bandcamp
One of the most intriguing Black Metal bands continue their own explorations of the genre, through a peculiarly English lens.
07-Jul 2023 / PJ Harvey / I Inside The Old Year Dying / Official Artist Store
PJ Harvey, back with her first album in seven years, reinvents herself once again.
07-Jul 2023 / Will Haven / VII / Bandcamp
No need for reinvention for Will Haven, as their vicious, rolling hardcore just keeps on going.

/New Singles/EPs

None this week.

/New Compilations, Live Albums, Reissues

07-Jul 2023 / Suede / Suede30 / Official Artist Store
Suede revisit their landmark album with a lavish reissue.

/Upcoming Releases

/Upcoming Albums

11-Aug 2023 / Bonnie “Prince” Billy / Keeping Secrets Will Destroy You / Bandcamp
Will Oldham returns.
22-Sep 2023 / 3TEETH / EndEx / Century Media Store
It feels like an eternity since the last 3TEETH album, but after a few single teases, the fourth album comes in September.
06-Oct 2023 / KANGA / Under Glass / Bandcamp
KANGA continues their recent nudges into poppier textures, it seems.

/Upcoming EPs/Singles

None this week.

/Upcoming Compilations, Live Albums, Reissues

22-Sep 2023 / The Breeders / Last Splash (30th Anniversary Edition) / Bandcamp
One of the greatest albums of the early nineties gets a(nother) reissue/remaster to mark the thirtieth anniversary of it. I remember buying the Cannonball in the summer of 1993, aged fifteen…

/Upcoming/Livestreams/Gigs/Club Nights/Events

Obviously, things change at short notice right now, and I’m updating events as they are postponed or cancelled, and also including relevant Livestreams as they are announced.

/amodelofcontrol.com continues to maintain an events calendar, but it has now moved to /amodelofcontrol.com/events – and is now a dynamic, searchable database, and you can add individual events to your own calendars. I’m currently fixing a couple of minor backend issues, so new events may not be added promptly, or be added sporadically.

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above. It goes without saying that any gig or club still in the listing is subject to change at short notice, or may not happen at all.
