/Welcome to the Future/170/Livestreams and new releases 09-Apr 2021

Bandcamp Friday has been and gone, so it is a bit of a quieter week on the release front this week. In addition, I’ve overhauled the events page in a big way, so see the link further down for that. Livestreams and waiting for new releases seem to be the order of the day, for now, still, so I continue to wrap up both.

Also, if you missed them, read my roundup of 2020 in the form of /Countdown/2020. /Countdown/2020/Albums, /Countdown/2020/Tracks, and /Countdown/2020/Compilations and Re-issues.

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/024, which starts on the letter P. /transmission/025 will follow soon.

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/Releases out today or recently
Årabrot / Norwegian Gothic /Bandcamp
The Norwegian noisy, avant-garde rockers return with their latest album.
Kauan / Ice Fleet /Bandcamp
I’ve been playing Raivo for weeks, and the chilly post-metal of it bodes well for the album out today.
Beinaheleidenschaftsgegenstand / Clothed In New Flesh /Bandcamp
Bein-e return with an excellent remix album, that sheds new light on their often shadowy music.
Onchocerciasis Esophagogastroduodenoscopy / The Rotted Plinth of Sachiel /Bandcamp
With an even longer band name than Bein-e, this is nasty, brutal death metal.

/Upcoming releases announced this week

20-Apr-21 / Tombstones In Their Eyes / Looking For A Light /Bandcamp
This popped into my inbox last week, and you can expect to hear something from it on Tuesday at /TheKindaMzkYouLike/012. Gorgeous, melodic shoegazey rock.
18-Jun-21 / Withered / Verloren /Bandcamp
“Blackened Doom”, apparently, and going on the first track, it delivers on both fronts.

/Upcoming/Livestreams/Gigs/Club Nights/Events
Obviously, things change at short notice right now, and I’m updating events as they are postponed or cancelled, and also including relevant Livestreams as they are announced.

/amodelofcontrol.com continues to maintain an events calendar, but it has now moved to /amodelofcontrol.com/events – and is now a dynamic, searchable database, and you can add individual events to your own calendars.

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above. It goes without saying that any gig or club still in the listing is subject to change at short notice, or may not happen at all.

/Tuesday Ten/450 will come next week, as well as a couple of new interviews (with LONESAW and Terminal) once I’ve transcribed them – we’re in the midst of preparing to move house at the moment so we are very busy indeed!

Also coming up this week is /TheKindaMzkYouLike/012/Alternative music from the 90s and more with myself and Daisy on Tuesday, /Stormblast/151/Extreme Metal with Kunal again on Thursday, and /Rivet/016/Industrial on Friday. The upcoming livestreams from /amodelofcontrol.com can always be found here, too – although there will be a break of a week or two after these while we move house.
