Another Bandcamp Friday, another slew of emails, and here’s the releases you should be paying attention to.
This post is a roundup of (relevant to this site) new and upcoming music, a nod to upcoming events and livestreams both from this website and others, and also a catchup of what I’ve posted recently. Thanks to everyone who sends me new music and events, keeps me up to speed, and indeed simply reads these posts.

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/024, which starts on the letter P. /transmission/025 will follow soon – at last!
You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.
If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/Albums of the Week
06-Oct 2023 / Teeth of the Sea / Hive / Bandcamp
Teeth of the Sea return with their first album in over four years, and using their Apollo’s Moon Shot work as a base, are more out there than ever…
06-Oct 2023 / unitcode:machine / Critical Fault / Bandcamp
A quite glorious collection of industrial (rock) songs that have melody, heart and emotion: I cannot get enough of this.
/New Albums
29-Sep 2023 / Code Orange / The Above / Official Artist Store
Code Orange take a more eclectic, expansive route this time around: where Underneath was searing aggression, this is more reflective.
29-Sep 2023 / Oneohtrix Point Never / Again / Bleep
Daniel Lopatin perhaps proves that nostalgia should remain the past, as this album feels a little bogged down by it – he has always been better looking forward.
29-Sep 2023 / Primordial / How It Ends / Bandcamp
Primordial’s best album in an age is a rail against a world collapsing.
05-Oct 2023 / Natura Est / The Folly of Mars / Bandcamp
Tony Young and Andreas Davids continue their elegant dark ambient work, this time with their head in the stars (and specifically the quest to reach Mars).
06-Oct 2023 / KANGA / Under Glass / Bandcamp
KANGA returns with her third full-length album, and a strong one at that.
06-Oct 2023 / Madil Hardis / Natural Darkness / Bandcamp
A fascinating release, this: a London artist that straddles the line between delicate electronics, chamber pop and classical influences. It is as intriguing and interesting as the description suggests.
06-Oct 2023 / Prong / State of Emergency / Official Label Store
I mean, it’s Prong. Groove metal with electronic touches, it’s great.
06-Oct 2023 / The Anchoress / Versions / Bandcamp
The Anchoress brings together recently released cover versions as well as a few more new covers.
/New Singles/EPs
28-Sep 2023 / DEBBY FRIDAY / let u in / Bandcamp
Picking up from the excellent album released earlier in the year, here’s (already!) another new single.
29-Sep 2023 / Bootblacks / Forbidden Flames / Bandcamp
Bootblacks return with another sleek single.
29-Sep 2023 / grabyourface / Haine X Guillotine / Bandcamp
One of the stars of Infest 2022 brings us a rampaging double A-side single.
/New Compilations, Live Albums, Reissues
03-Oct 2023 / Mind.In.A.Box / Shades of Gray / Bandcamp
MIAB follow up the recent – and excellent – album with a club-friendly remix EP.
03-Oct 2023 / Derision Cult / The Mercenary Mixes / Bandcamp
A lengthy set of remixes from this Chicago industrial artist, and the remixer list is a veritable whos-who of the scene.
06-Oct 2023 / deux furieuses / How Did It Get To This?/ Bandcamp
deux furieuses re-release what was in many ways their debut, under their original name We Rock Like Girls Don’t.
/Upcoming Albums
17-Nov 2023 / Mariusz Duda / AFR AI D / Bandcamp
An intriguing, mellow look at the use of AI in music through the lens of blissed-out, proggy electronics.
01-Dec 2023 / Mildreda / Blue-Devilled / Bandcamp
Jan de Wolf returns once again with his electro-industrial project. The last album was exceptional so I have high-hopes for this.
07-Dec 2023 / HEALTH / RAT WARS / Bandcamp
Apparently “documenting how insane it is to be alive right now”, judging on the first few tracks released, this is going to be brutally heavy, even by HEALTH standards.
/Upcoming EPs/Singles
None this week.
/Upcoming Compilations, Live Albums, Reissues
01-Dec 2023 / Brainiac / Smack Bunny Baby (30th Anniversary) / Official Label Store
The recent resurgence of interest in BRAINIAC clearly means we’re going to get more reissues, and here’s the latest – the first time their debut album has been on vinyl since it was first released in 1993.
/Upcoming/Livestreams/Gigs/Club Nights/Events
Obviously, things change at short notice right now, and I’m updating events as they are postponed or cancelled, and also including relevant Livestreams as they are announced.
/amodelofcontrol.com continues to maintain an events calendar, but it has now moved to /amodelofcontrol.com/events – and is now a dynamic, searchable database, and you can add individual events to your own calendars. I’m currently fixing a couple of minor backend issues, so new events may not be added promptly, or be added sporadically.
If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above. It goes without saying that any gig or club still in the listing is subject to change at short notice, or may not happen at all.
