Back from Infest and to normal life again, and I feel like I could do with sleeping for a week.

I’m back from Resistanz Festival – the review for that will follow at some point in the next week – and we’re back to the regular /Tuesday Ten posts. Needless to say, this was written in advance last week, as I knew full well I wouldn’t have time over the weekend.
Another busy week for releases – and new announcements this week. I’ve also added another swathe of events to the listing, too. Links below. This post is a roundup of (relevant to this site) new and upcoming music, a nod to upcoming events and livestreams both from this website and others, and also a catchup […]
I’ve kinda settled now on bi-weekly posts for this, and it’s unlikely time will allow for much more, so that’s how it will be. This post is a roundup of (relevant to this site) new and upcoming music, a nod to upcoming events and livestreams both from this website and others, and also a catchup […]
This week marks the end of /Tuesday Tens for 2021 (they will resume in the new year), as I prepare to round up what has been a very busy year in the ever-widening corner of music that this website covers.
Post-Infest, and after a busy start to September, we’ve found time for the next episode. This week we get started on the letter “l”, with some classic industrial artists and a number at the fringes.
It’s Friday, therefore time for the usual amodelofcontrol.com round-up of new music coming your way this week and soon, as well as a look at the events and gigs in the future, and finally nods to any other notable news that affects artists and music that I cover here.

Another Friday, another round-up. As always this is a look at upcoming releases, relevant music news and upcoming events and gigs worth spending some of your time at. It is by no means an exhaustive list, and I’m always on the lookout for more to include.

A few months ago, Tuesday Ten #226 howled about dogs. But in the meantime, Elin – among a few others – was unimpressed that I did songs about dogs, but not cats. So time to redress the balance, with some songs to mewl along to. Bring your kitten heels to dance.
The teenage years – the hinterland between childhood and adulthood, where many find their voice, start to shape their own future and begin to form their musical and cultural tastes. The whole idea of the teenager, though, has changed over time, frequently thanks to cultural shifts and trends, and often there is an image of […]
Playlists:  Spotify Time for the first roundup of new music to recommend for 2011 – it’s my Tracks of the month January 2011.
While for me the past decade hasn’t been the revelation musically that the 90s were, there was still some amazing material. And here are the top twenty songs of the decade, according to me.
And now, back to 2008. As per last year (and the year before that, etc), it’s time to begin my musical run-down of 2008, and I’m starting with the stuff that has disappointed me. This isn’t just albums this year, it’s a mix of observations on the music scene as I see it. Obviously, as […]
What has been a busy month or two for gigs continued last night with me heading back to Sheffield Academy 2 for the Ladytron gig. Also on downstairs in the main venue was Jarvis Cocker, so it transpired, and in some poor organisation all punters were being pointed towards one main queue, and then another […]
Loosely inspired by other silly posts comparing Euro 2008 to other things (the European Championships of Beer being the best I've seen so far), I'm turning my attention this week to the more international corners of my music collection – and in particular, bands that sing in other languages than English, and indeed perhaps their […]
Where the hell is this year going? We seem to be flying through it. So anyway, here's my monthly rundown of ten tracks that I really like/am listening to lots at the moment.
Here is my usual run-down of ten tracks that I think are worthy of mention from the past month. Some might note a lack of “metal” in this list: mainly because there is little new stuff that I have heard that has inspired me to write about in any way. So, here goes.
