/Welcome to the Future /235 /Events, Livestreams and New Releases 20-Jan 2023

Another busy week for releases – and new announcements this week. I’ve also added another swathe of events to the listing, too. Links below.

This post is a roundup of (relevant to this site) new and upcoming music, a nod to upcoming events and livestreams both from this website and others, and also a catchup of what I’ve posted recently. Thanks to everyone who sends me new music and events, keeps me up to speed, and indeed simply reads these posts.

/Events, Livestreams and New Releases 20-Jan 2023
/Previous /234/13-Jan /233/06-Jan /232/23-Dec

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/024, which starts on the letter P. /transmission/025 will follow soon – at last!

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/Upcoming Albums

10-Feb 2023 / Feral Five / Truth Is The New Gold / Bandcamp
I featured this band on here some time ago, and their debut album is finally coming.
17-Feb 2023 / Korine / Tear / Bandcamp
The much-hyped US synthpop band with a new album.
03-Mar 2023 / Full of Hell & Primitive Man / Suffocating Hallucination / Bandcamp
Two of the heaviest bands around join forces for what sounds – going on the first track – to be a crushing, overwhelming release.
10-Mar 2023 / The Banishment / Machine and Bone / Official Band Store
A new industrial rock band formed of some old hands, and I like the lead song a lot.
24-Mar 2023 / MORK / Dypet / Bandcamp

21-Apr 2023 / Grave Pleasures / Plagueboys / Official Band Store
It feels like it’s been an age, but one of the best post-punk/goth bands around are back.
21-Apr 2023 / The National / First Two Pages of Frankenstein / Official Band Store
They had me at the album title, frankly.

/Upcoming EPs/Singles

24-Feb 2023 / Wanderer / Indulgence of the Unreal/ Bandcamp
I liked their recent releases a lot, so more of what Wanderer do is fine by me.

/Upcoming Compilations, Live Albums, Reissues

10-Mar 2023 / KANGA / KANGA/ Bandcamp
KANGA’s still exceptional debut album – Album of the Year on this site in 2016 – gets a long-requested CD repress/re-release.

/Upcoming/Livestreams/Gigs/Club Nights/Events

Obviously, things change at short notice right now, and I’m updating events as they are postponed or cancelled, and also including relevant Livestreams as they are announced.

/amodelofcontrol.com continues to maintain an events calendar, but it has now moved to /amodelofcontrol.com/events – and is now a dynamic, searchable database, and you can add individual events to your own calendars. I’m currently fixing a couple of minor backend issues, so new events may not be added promptly, or be added sporadically.

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above. It goes without saying that any gig or club still in the listing is subject to change at short notice, or may not happen at all.
