/DJ/Rivet/015 – 19-Mar 2021
After some years of talking about it – and struggling to find a venue – Andy and I decided finally to bring /Rivet back in 2020, and in 2021, we’re back as long as lockdown allows.

Another busy week of new music and upcoming announcements – not to mention lots of choice on the Livestream front, too. In addition, I’ve overhauled the events page in a big way, so see the link further down for that. Livestreams and waiting for new releases seem to be the order of the day, for […]
Lockdown might be over soon, who knows. But in the meantime, we continue with fortnightly editions of /Stormblast, and this week things went nasty.
As we continue in this strange new world, home-based entertainment is now the thing. So, I guess one of the benefits of the internet age is that we can do things online instead. This has allowed me to experiment a bit.
This winter in the UK has seen another time where the weather has seen fit to make an already crap time (lockdown) even worse. There’s been heavy snow, storms, lots of rain, frankly it’s been a dreadful time that really hasn’t helped with the feeling of being trapped in one’s home.

One of the really liberating things about DJing on livestreams is the freedom that it gives. No longer beholden to a dancefloor, I can be far more flexible in what I play, and as a result, it has spawned a few one-off nights to test particular waters.
There was a clear pattern to pretty much all of the suggestion threads that I initiated last year. In one way or another, they mostly linked to the situation we found ourselves in: our normal way of life upended, unable to travel or socialise in the usual ways for most of the past year. That […]
Bandcamp day again already, and yet again, there’s another big list of releases. In addition, I’ve overhauled the events page in a big way, so see the link further down for that. Livestreams and waiting for new releases seem to be the order of the day for now, still, so I continue to wrap up […]
Lockdown might be over soon, who knows. But in the meantime, we continue with fortnightly editions of /Stormblast, and this week I was joined by my semi-regular cohort Xjort from Reign of Erebus.
Gosh, this year is flashing by somewhat – we’re into March already? Still, at least that means we might be edging closer to something resembling more like normality in the coming months, but in the meantime, I’m continuing my weekly /Tuesday Ten posts, and this week I’m looking again at the best music of the […]
Another quieter week this week, with a more “usual” list of new releases and upcoming announcements. In addition, I’ve overhauled the events page in a big way, so see the link further down for that. Livestreams and waiting for new releases seem to be the order of the day for now, still, so I continue […]
24-Feb was determined to be International EBM Day a few years back (24/2 – geddit?), and so increasingly, it has become a day where the roots and history of the musical style are celebrated.
This week, as the Tuesday Ten series reaches a repeating number in the form of 444, I will now attempt this week’s post without repetition, deviation, or hesitation. Actually, maybe not. I’ll leave that to Just A Minute (which unexpectedly, to me at least, returned last night with Paul Merton at the helm).
A quieter week this week, with a more “usual” list of new releases and upcoming announcements (the last couple of weeks have taken hours to compile!). In addition, I’ve overhauled the events page in a big way, so see the link further down for that. Livestreams and waiting for new releases seem to be the […]
A quieter night than the last few, but still with interesting conversation and (hopefully) interesting new music amongst some old favourites.

Very occasionally at this time of year – and I’ve done this less than I thought I had – I turn to a subject that might have something to do with Valentine’s Day. This year is another of those, mainly as I’m still digging through the variety of as-yet-unused suggestion threads, and there was an […]
Bandcamp Friday last week was so busy that I’ve got yet more releases from it to mention this week, and it’s busy enough anyway this week. In addition, I’ve overhauled the events page in a big way, so see the link further down for that. Livestreams and waiting for new releases seem to be the […]
Digging back into my “to-do list” of /Tuesday Ten posts (I still have quite a few of those) was the order of the day again this week, mainly as I didn’t really want to continue with yet more lockdown-themed posts (unless I can come up with another one worthy of the time spent on it). […]
