/Welcome to the Future/182/Livestreams and new releases 23-Jul 2021

As I’ve noted previously livestreams like others are beginning to wind down. In addition, I’ve overhauled the events page in a big way, so see the link further down for that. There are still some things going on, as well as the usual slew of releases, so I continue to wrap up both, as well as the tentative announcements for new in-person events and gigs.

Also, if you missed them, read my roundup of 2020 in the form of /Countdown/2020. /Countdown/2020/Albums, /Countdown/2020/Tracks, and /Countdown/2020/Compilations and Re-issues.

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/024, which starts on the letter P. /transmission/025 will follow soon.

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/Releases out today or recently

Where We Sleep / The Scars They Leave /Bandcamp
Beth, ex-Blindness (a band I’d long championed on this site) releases her debut album under her solo moniker Where We Sleep. After a handful of singles in the past year or two, this is a full release of new material, and is well worth picking up.
The Joy Thieves / American Parasite /Bandcamp
The loose industrial “collective” release their debut album.

/Upcoming releases announced this past week

30-Jul 2021 / Red Meat / Homo Vulgaris /Bandcamp
Out next week on Drøne, this new project from Rhys Hughes is thumping, nasty industrial-techno.
10-Sep 2021 / Sneaker Pimps / Squaring The Circle /Bandcamp
The long-promised return of Sneaker Pimps.
17-Sep 2021 / MONO / Pilgrimage of the Soul /Bandcamp
MONO team up with Steve Albini once again.
17-Sep 2021 / Assemblage 23 / Failure (20th Anniversary Edition) /Bandcamp
The much-loved A23 album gets a lavish reissue (and complete remaster, too).
01-Oct 2021 / Katatonia / Mnemosynean /Bandcamp
A B-sides and rarities collection from Swedish doom titans Katatonia.

/Upcoming/Livestreams/Gigs/Club Nights/Events
Obviously, things change at short notice right now, and I’m updating events as they are postponed or cancelled, and also including relevant Livestreams as they are announced.

/amodelofcontrol.com continues to maintain an events calendar, but it has now moved to /amodelofcontrol.com/events – and is now a dynamic, searchable database, and you can add individual events to your own calendars. I’m currently fixing a couple of minor backend issues, so new events may not be added promptly, or be added sporadically.

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above. It goes without saying that any gig or club still in the listing is subject to change at short notice, or may not happen at all.
