/Welcome to the Future/168/Livestreams and new releases 26-Mar 2021

Another busy week of new music and upcoming announcements – not to mention lots of choice on the Livestream front, too. In addition, I’ve overhauled the events page in a big way, so see the link further down for that. Livestreams and waiting for new releases seem to be the order of the day, for now, still, so I continue to wrap up both.

Also, if you missed them, read my roundup of 2020 in the form of /Countdown/2020. /Countdown/2020/Albums, /Countdown/2020/Tracks, and /Countdown/2020/Compilations and Re-issues.

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/024, which starts on the letter P. /transmission/025 will follow soon.

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/Upcoming releases announced this week
23-Apr-21 / NOÊTA / Elm /Bandcamp
Intriguing, dark-folk metal that has me fascinated.
21-May-21 / Pixel Grip / Arena /Bandcamp
I’ve seen them described as Trip-hop meets EBM, which is an unusual mix…
21-May-21 / Monster Magnet / A Better Dystopia /Bandcamp
A covers album of mostly obscure psych-rock from the 60s and 70s seems totally on-brand.
28-May-21 / Black Midi / Cavalcade /Bandcamp
The mad London experimentalists return with added saxophones.
25-Jun-21 / John Grant / Boy from Michigan /Bandcamp
A new John Grant album is always welcome in this house.

/Upcoming/Livestreams/Gigs/Club Nights/Events
Obviously, things change at short notice right now, and I’m updating events as they are postponed or cancelled, and also including relevant Livestreams as they are announced.

/amodelofcontrol.com continues to maintain an events calendar, but it has now moved to /amodelofcontrol.com/events – and is now a dynamic, searchable database, and you can add individual events to your own calendars.

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above. It goes without saying that any gig or club still in the listing is subject to change at short notice, or may not happen at all.

/amodelofcontrol.com/next week
The delayed /Tuesday Ten/448 will come next week, as well as a couple of new interviews (with LONESAW and Terminal) once I’ve transcribed them – there will be another to follow the week after. Life is really busy at the moment so finding the time to write more otherwise is difficult (and this past week, I broadly had to take a week off from writing).

Also coming up this week is /Stormblast/150/Extreme Metal Livestream on Thursday 01-Apr, and a return to 90s Metal with /A Certain Shade of Green/002 on Friday 02-Apr. The upcoming livestreams from /amodelofcontrol.com can always be found here, too.
