/Welcome to the Future/130/Livestreams and new release round-up/12-Jun 2020

We keep going amid the lockdown. There are new releases, and still, new music coming through, and buying music right now is the only way we can help. The events listing is still being updated, but obviously, an awful lot is being postponed, cancelled or changed right now.

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/021, which starts on the letter N. /transmission/022 will follow soon.

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/This Week/New Releases

The most notable release this week is the latest in the Electronic Saviors – Electronic Music To Cure Cancer series that has raised ten of thousands of dollars for charity, and the one released today is Vol VI: Reflection, and has been made clear by Jim Semonik that this is the final one. As before, the Prime edition is no less than eight CDs, and I’m yet to get started on mine (it only arrived yesterday)! In addition, Jim’s own group Red Lokust release their new album, Whom the Gods Wish to Ruin, They First Drive Mad today too.

Otherwise this week, it’s a bit of a round-up of other releases I’ve not featured thus far. The fascinating Finnish industrial group Cardinal Noire released their new EP Nightmare Worms last week, while the equally fascinating US electronic artist Rabit released a album DIS ease recently, and the liner notes on Bandcamp are well worth reading to accompany it.

Then, Sludge Metal (ish!) band Thou released a compilation of all of their Nirvana covers last week (I didn’t realise they’d done so many). Talking of Thou, they also feature on a Sacred Bones compilation from last month that sees a number of their artists take on Black Sabbath songs for the 50th anniversary of that band’s debut and is an essential listen.

/This Week/Upcoming Releases

None have been announced of relevance (to my knowledge!) this week – please tell me if there is something I’ve missed!

/Upcoming/Gigs/Club Nights/Events

Obviously things have rather changed right now, and I’m updating events as they are postponed or cancelled, and also including relevant Livestreams as they are announced.

This weekly listing has now seen a significant overhaul and has moved over to a Shareable calendar format that is embedded below. You can add it to your own calendar views if you wish (GCal link, iCal link), and then you will get dynamic updates as I get them. Otherwise, see the embedded calendar below.

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above.
