Another Friday, another round-up. As always this is a look at upcoming releases, relevant music news and upcoming events and gigs worth spending some of your time at. It is by no means an exhaustive list, and I’m always on the lookout for more to include.

transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has resumed the run through of the a-z of industrial, with transmission: 003 and transmission: 004 joining 001 and 002 online in the past week, and we’ll be continuing with d on transmission: 005 in a couple of weeks. You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher.

New and Upcoming Releases this week
Top release of the week for me? The new album Criminal from The Soft Moon – a brilliant, snarling hybrid of industrial, shoegaze and post-punk.
Also out today: Aesthetic Perfection‘s new single is Ebb and Flow, and features an N*SYNC cover (which should be interesting), and Simple Minds return with Walk Between Worlds.
Various new announcements came this week, too, with CHVRCHES returning with Get Out, the first song from their forthcoming third album, Frank Turner announced his new album Be More Kind, and The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing release Double Negative on 09-March.
A little less “confirmed”, but at least from the artist herself – we can potentially expect new Grimes material this year.
Upcoming gigs and clubs
As always let me know if you want your event featured. To make things a little clearer, I’ve split club and gig nights out into separate sections.

Other Things
Infest confirmed yesterday that this year will be four-day event to mark the 20th Anniversary, and the first band announced is Aesthetic Perfection, and as usual, we can expect the band announcements staggered over the next couple of months. amodelofcontrol.com will, of course, be covering the festival, and this year will actually mark the fifteenth year that I’ve done so.
