The longest distance I’ve travelled just to DJ was to Aberdeen, and the club venue, the Tunnels, was a strange little underground venue with two rooms (and pretty poor soundproofing between the two, oddly enough.

We were in room two, and had to wait to set up until local band Free Korps, a band who maintain they play “electronic music”, but onstage they appeared to be a bog-standard indie band with some heavy-duty electronics that could rarely be heard. In fact, after hearing Late Of The Pier earlier in the week, it appears that the influence of Brainiac is finally beginning to show. Just a sign, perhaps, of how far ahead of their time the band were – and how devoid of originality many of the current bands are.
Anyway, Elizium itself was a blast. A great turnout, by the looks of things, and when it came to my DJ set I quickly realised I had an unusually open-minded dancefloor, enabling me to chuck in some very new songs that did no damage to the packed dancefloor at all!
