/Welcome to the Future/148/Livestreams and new release round-up/23-Oct 2020

Sliding back towards another lockdown, it seems, but there is still new music to enjoy, hence why I continue these Friday posts. The events listing is still being updated, but obviously, an awful lot is being postponed, cancelled or changed right now.

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/024, which starts on the letter P. /transmission/025 will follow soon.

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

/This Week/New Releases

Another stack of new releases this week.

A couple released during the past week first – Lederman * Stein (a collaboration between Jean-Marc Lederman and Erik Stein (Cult With No Name) released Textbooks for Tomorrow, while Lebanon Hanover returned with their sixth full-length album Sci-Fi Sky.

Onto today – the always-fascinating Clipping. have returned with their latest album of experimental, industrial-edged hip-hop, Visions of Bodies Being Burned, which even from the singles was obviously going to be a darker, more reflective release, and so it proves – but still has moments of scorching, shocking noise.

Also out today are the long-awaited Rabbit Junk release Xenospheres (which is a whole lot of breathless, energetic fun, as ever), the new album from Diorama, Tiny Missing Fragments, Pallbearer’s new album Forgotten Days, and the searing new EP from Zeal & Ardor, Wake of a Nation.

One notable reissue this week – My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult’s classic Confessions of a Knife has been reissued on vinyl to mark it’s thirtieth birthday…

/This Week/Upcoming Releases

Two notable releases announced this week: DIVE returns with Where Do We Go From Here on 11-Dec, while seemingly entirely unexpected from Front Line Assembly is new album Mechanical Soul, due on 15-Jan.

/Upcoming/Gigs/Club Nights/Events

Obviously things change at short notice right now, and I’m updating events as they are postponed or cancelled, and also including relevant Livestreams as they are announced.

This weekly listing has now seen a significant overhaul and has moved over to a Shareable calendar format. The below draws direct from a GCal I’ve long maintained, and you can add it to your own calendar views if you wish (GCal link, iCal link), and then you will get dynamic updates as I get them. Otherwise, see the events listing below – click on the links to bring up the Calendar entry.

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above. It goes without saying that any gig or club still in the listing is subject to change at short notice, or may not happen at all.
