/Welcome to the Future/086/Events, gigs and new release round-up/31-May 2019

It’s Friday, therefore time for the usual amodelofcontrol.com round-up of new music coming your way this week and soon, as well as a look at the events and gigs in the future, and finally nods to any other notable news that affects artists and music that I cover here.

transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – had begun the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes here. The latest episode was released a few months ago (transmission: 012). transmission: 013 will be out as soon as I have the time to rebuild the whole damned thing…

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the new Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”).

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/This Week/New and Upcoming Releases

Out today: Where We Sleep release their debut EP Experiments in the Dark. The second of God Module’s new single releases, Unconscious, and Norwegian metal veterans Darkthrone are back with Old Star, and reputedly a nod to their Black Metal roots for the first time in a long time.

An intriguing new announcement is of an album by a collective called The Joy Thieves on Armalyte. The EP is This Will Kill That, out 28-June, and has a huge list of contributors that is something of a who’s-who’s of industrial rock. Colour me interested. Also out later this month is the new album from IIOIOIOII, Chroma + Chromatic, while She Past Away, who play London tomorrow night, release Disko Anksiyete on 12-July.

Two new singles of note this week – both precursors to new albums: New Phantogram single Into Happiness and new Pelican single Cold Hope.

Also coming soon is a twentieth-anniversary remaster and reissue of Velvet Acid Christ’s Fun With Knives, out on 26-July.
