Another Friday, another round-up. As always this is a look at upcoming releases, relevant music news and upcoming events and gigs worth spending some of your time at. It is by no means an exhaustive list, and I’m always on the lookout for more to include.

New and Upcoming Releases this week
My god, there’s a lot out this week. Before I even start on this week, though, I should have mentioned the long-awaited new Alice In Chains album Rainier Fog, that was released last week.
This week, though, I need to take a deep breath before rattling through this lot.
Spiritualized return with the glorious …And Nothing Hurt, Pig Destroyer also return, with Head Cage, Cocksure’s third album is Be Rich, and Clutch release their twelfth album, Book of Bad Decisions. Then ADULT. release This Behaviour, Groovie Mann of The Thrill Kill Kult’s new project Trash Deity releases Cross & Divide, and Basic Unit Productions release their third compilation, Frost Vol. III.
A very long-awaited release is the new single from Continues, Fall Tragic (the B-side is excellent, too), while Ventenner also released a new track this week, and LOCK release their long-awaited single Hey Compadre next week.
There has been quite a few new release announcements this week, too. Kælan Mikla are back with their third album Nótt eftir nótt, The Twilight Sad’s new album is called It won/t be like this all the time, Dead Can Dance announced their first new album in six years, and Laibach are releasing The Sound of Music at last.
Then in addition to all that (!), there are This Mortal Coil re-issues coming, and My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult have a new album coming in April 2019 (pleasecometotheUKpleasecometotheUK)…

Other Things
Firstly, sad to hear of the death of Bad Seed Conway Savage.
Elsewhere, it’s not great news either, with the legendary Village Voice shutting down.
Two things worth reading: musings on musical “canon” in the digital age, and a look at the Britpop revival…
