Another Friday, another round-up. As always this is a look at upcoming releases, relevant music news and upcoming events and gigs worth spending some of your time at. It is by no means an exhaustive list, and I’m always on the lookout for more to include. This week this is a double dose after having to miss a week last week.

transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has resumed the run through of the a-z of industrial, with transmission: 003, transmission: 004, transmission: 005, transmission: 006, transmission: 007, transmission: 008 and transmission: 009 joining 001 and 002 online recently, and we’ll be continuing with g and h on transmission: 010 very soon. You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher.
In a bit of a departure from my previous work, I’ll be presenting at Nine Worlds in August, looking at the links between various areas of relevant “geek culture” and music. If you’re going to be there, expect some unexpected music and discussion.
If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).
New and Upcoming Releases this week
Various releases today.
Nine Inch Nails are back with their latest EP, Bad Witch, ahead of their London shows this weekend (which sadly I’m missing out on). Front Line Assembly return with Warmech (the follow-up to the excellent Airmech), while Death Grips release Year of the Snitch too.
As well as all that, there are also new releases from Juno Reactor (The Mutant Theatre), De/Vision (Citybeats) and Helalyn Flowers (Nyctophilia).
In re-issue news, Garbage re-release Version 2.0 today, while I had missed that a Black Box Recorder box-set has been released – all three albums and more besides (there was a great interview with Luke Haines and Sarah Nixey on RadMac last week). In addition, there is another Coil re-issue worth looking out for, too.
In new album news… Spiritualized are back! And Nothing Hurt is out in September, with two great singles already out. Also returning are Low, and The Black Queen release their second album Infinite Games on 28-September.
While literally minutes after I posted the other week, Dubstar confirmed their new album One, also out on 28-September.

Other Things
I would have mentioned this last week had I posted, but important news and changes at Whitby Goth Weekend. There is likely more changes to come, from what has been flying around, but I’ll comment further once I see concrete info.
For the first time in a long, long time, Clawfinger return to the UK this December, and damned right I’ll be at the London show.
Finally, another of The Cramps has gone to flesh out the Devil’s house band.
