/Welcome to the Future /292 /Events, Livestreams and New Releases 24-Jul 2025

A break in what has been a hot summer this week, with lots of rain and a general sense, for a short while, of nothing much going on.

This post is a roundup of (relevant to this site) new and upcoming music, a nod to upcoming events and livestreams both from this website and others, and also a catchup of what I’ve posted recently. Thanks to everyone who sends me new music and events, keeps me up to speed, and indeed simply reads these posts.

/amodelofcontrol.com now has a Patreon page, at this stage purely as a potential way of helping to cover the running costs of the site. There is absolutely no compulsion to do so: if you feel you can chuck a small amount to the site each month, that would be appreciated.

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/024, which starts on the letter P. /transmission/025 will follow soon – at last!

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/Releases out today or recently

/Album of the Week

25-Jul 2025 / Black Magnet / MEGAMANTRA / Bandcamp
The third album from mid-west industrial-metal band Black Magnet delivers on all the promise so far and then some. Furiously heavy but also endlessly listenable.

/New Albums

03-Jun 2025 / Dimscûa / Dust Eater / Bandcamp
Searing post-metal that came my way recently.
11-Jul 2025 / Agency-V / Never Meant To Be / Bandcamp
Featuring Peter Steer (once of Tenek), this trio have released their debut album, and it’s a great collection of synthpop songs.
25-Jul 2025 / 16Volt / More of Less / Bandcamp
The first new album from 16Volt in an age, sees the Machine Rock heroes back on fine form.
25-Jul 2025 / Curse Mackey / Imaginary Enemies / Bandcamp
One of the hardest working artists in US darkwave returns with an impressive new album.
25-Jul 2025 / Ratio Strain / Exorcism / Bandcamp
Vanessa has been familiar on the scene for a while – particularly drumming for W.A.S.T.E. – and this is their first solo album.

/New Singles/EPs

11-Jul 2025 / Rew0und / Dead and Gone / Bandcamp
A new artist from the Glitch Mode stable tilts the balance towards metal(core) from industrial, but this still kicks.
15-Jul 2025 / 3TEETH / Civil War / Streaming Links
An unexpected new, and grimly appropriate, cover comes from 3TEETH, as they take on the Guns’n’Roses epic with impressive results.
25-Jul 2025 / Caustic / Pushing Rope / Spotify
The first track from the two albums Matt Fanale releases this summer, which are potentially the last Caustic albums. This first track is a bass heavy, WaxTrax-leaning banger with Jason Novak assisting, where Fanale appears to be considering whether making music is a fruitless endeavour.
25-Jul 2025 / Nuovo Testamento / Trouble / Bandcamp
The much-loved trio surprisingly expand their horizons into the nineties, but losing none of their anthemic, poppy appeal.
25-Jul 2025 / Promenade Cinema / Play With Fate / Bandcamp
The first single from the upcoming third album by Promenade Cinema is a typically dramatic, sweeping song, keeping true to their unique style.

/New Compilations, Live Albums, Reissues

15-Jul 2025 / Collide / Signals (Vol. 1) / Bandcamp
The first of a pair of striking compilations from Collide this year, reworking and refreshing a number of their classic songs (and a few rarities), with amazing results.
25-Jul 2025 / Fever Ray / The Year of the Radical Romantics / Bandcamp
Apparently a live album, although I suspect the reality isn’t quite that, knowing Karin Dreijer…
25-Jul 2025 / Frank Turner / Show 3000 / Official Artist Store
It’s not often a live album is released from a show I was at…

/Upcoming Releases

/Upcoming Albums

The first album from Deftones in five years.

/Upcoming/Livestreams/Gigs/Club Nights/Events

/amodelofcontrol.com continues to maintain an events calendar, but it has now moved to /amodelofcontrol.com/events – and is now a dynamic, searchable database, and you can add individual events to your own calendars. The listing has had a revamp and redesign (and I’m re-adding events, so it’s a bit of a work in progress).

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above. It goes without saying that any gig or club still in the listing is subject to change at short notice, or may not happen at all.
