/Welcome to the Future /271 /Events, Livestreams and New Releases 03-May 2024

This week’s wrap of new and upcoming music, and it’s another Bandcamp Friday…

This post is a roundup of (relevant to this site) new and upcoming music, a nod to upcoming events and livestreams both from this website and others, and also a catchup of what I’ve posted recently. Thanks to everyone who sends me new music and events, keeps me up to speed, and indeed simply reads these posts.

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/024, which starts on the letter P. /transmission/025 will follow soon – at last!

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/Contents

/Releases out today or recently

/Albums of the Week

26-Apr 2024 / Houses of Heaven / Within/Without / Bandcamp
A quite brilliant album that twists post-punk styles by using EBM and industrial to make things far more interesting than it first appeared.
26-Apr 2024 / Arð / Untouched By Fire / Bandcamp
Astonishing, monastic doom that explores the heritage of their native Northumbria, and sounds absolutely amazing while doing so.

/New Albums

05-Apr 2024 / Maquina / PRATA / Bandcamp
Noisy, kosmische/industrial/noise rock hybrid that absolutely destroys.
26-Apr 2024 / 5F-X / Robby Road / Bandcamp
The furry aliens are back with a quite brilliant noise release.
26-Apr 2024 / Dead Astronauts / Ghosts / Bandcamp
Synthwave-meets-goth with interesting results.
26-Apr 2024 / Eric de Vries / My Battle / Bandcamp
The drummer of of Winterkälte, Eric de Vries, releases his first solo album, remarkably while battling a brain tumour. It has all the thumping power that you’d expect.
26-Apr 2024 / EYE / Dark Light / Bandcamp
Jessica Ball of MWWB moves to darker, shadowy sounds for their new project.
26-Apr 2024 / Full of Hell / Coagulated Bliss / Bandcamp
It’s Full of Hell. It’s chaotic, furious and great.
26-Apr 2024 / Meat Beat Manifesto & Merzbow / Extinct / Bandcamp
A surprising meeting of minds that works brilliantly, and sounds like they literally burned the studio down while making it.
26-Apr 2024 / Party Cannon / Injuries Are Inevitable / Bandcamp
The death/slam loons continue their hot streak with more metal to reduce your IQ in real time (but it’s still enormous fun).
26-Apr 2024 / S.I.N.A. / Alte Liebe / Bandcamp
S.I.N.A returns after aeons, and sounds like they never left.
26-Apr 2024 / S.K.E.T. / Empires Fall! / Bandcamp
Left-wing agitation in the form of noise. I’m here for this.
26-Apr 2024 / St Vincent / All Born Screaming / Official Artist Store
Annie Clark roars back with a searing album that’s back on form.
26-Apr 2024 / synapscape / Catwalk Massacre / Bandcamp
There was a whole lot of noise out last week. Here’s the latest missive from genre oddballs synapscape.
03-May 2024 / Black Asteroid / Infinite Darkness / Bandcamp
Bryan Black brings in a whole bunch of guests to explore his industrial roots.
03-May 2024 / Frank Turner / Undefeated / Official Artist Store
Frank Turner, back with his tenth album, and his 3,000th (!) live show is incoming…
03-May 2024 / Principe Valiente / In This Light / Bandcamp
More lovely, shoegazey goth from this Swedish group.
03-May 2024 / Rohn-Lederman / Black And Bleu / Bandcamp
Another meeting of minds from this duo. The last one was great so I’m expecting more good things.

/New Singles/EPs

22-Apr 2024 / History of Guns / No Longer Earthbound / Bandcamp
One of a few of unexpected returns recently, History of Guns pick up where they left off some years back.
26-Apr 2024 / Flesh Field / Voice of Reason / Bandcamp
Hot on the heels of last year’s excellent return, here’s more new material (and a few remixes) to add to it.
29-Apr 2024 / Fluke / Insanely Beautiful / Bandcamp
Fluke have returned! One of the most innovative and interesting electronic groups of the era continue their unusual songcraft – and don’t let the first minute or so of balladry put you off, if you’re looking for something a bit harder…
03-May 2024 / Beinaheleidenschaftsgegenstand / An Unforseen Silence / Bandcamp
UK Industrial’s most difficult to pronounce winners (every year) return with an album that invokes 80s cold-war paranoia and decay.
03-May 2024 / Comfort Cure / I’m the Drug / Bandcamp
Squelchy acid-techno influences seep into the hard-edged EBM I’ve come to like from Comfort Cure on their new EP.
03-May 2024 / NeonArcade85 / I See You / Spotify
A sleek, summery slice of synthwave.

/New Compilations, Live Albums, Reissues

26-Apr 2024 / Various Artists / Forms of Hands 23 / Bandcamp
The latest label showcase from HANDS, as usual in time for Forms of Hands last week.
03-May 2024 / 16Volt / Negative on Arrivals / Bandcamp
Not – yet – the new album we are promised, instead songs from 2016/2017 get reworked and rebuilt.
03-May 2024 / Spahn Ranch / The Coiled One (Deluxe Reissue) / Official Label Store
To many, Spahn Ranch’s best album – and certainly their most immediate, and it contains most of their best-known songs – gets a decent remaster with some excellent additional remixes and demos.

/Upcoming/Livestreams/Gigs/Club Nights/Events

Obviously, things change at short notice right now, and I’m updating events as they are postponed or cancelled, and also including relevant Livestreams as they are announced.

/amodelofcontrol.com continues to maintain an events calendar, but it has now moved to /amodelofcontrol.com/events – and is now a dynamic, searchable database, and you can add individual events to your own calendars. I’m currently fixing a couple of minor backend issues, so new events may not be added promptly, or be added sporadically.

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above. It goes without saying that any gig or club still in the listing is subject to change at short notice, or may not happen at all.
