After a bit of a longer break than usual post-Christmas, I resume my /Tuesday Ten series as /amodelofcontrol.com nears the twenty-year mark.

Welcome to /Countdown/2023 – this year’s wrap-up of the best new music that I’ve heard across the year, and the 20th anniversary of me starting to do such annual roundups (which began on LiveJournal before moving to this site). I begin as usual, with the best compilations and reissues in no particular order, although it […]
After what is these days a rare week off from /Tuesday Ten posts, I’m back this week with one looking at the pressures of fame.
For the first of my subject-based /Tuesday Ten posts in 2022, I’m picking up on a suggestion thread that I did in the weeks before Christmas, and had got me thinking.
Onto the third and final week of /Countdown/2020 on amodelofcontrol.com, and this week I’m looking at the best albums of the year. As I’m sure I’ve explained before, I treat the “year” as 01-December to 30-November, to allow me a cut-off point, and to allow this to be done and dusted before Christmas so that […]
We keep going amid the lockdown. There are new releases, and still, new music coming through, and buying music right now is the only way we can help. The events listing is still being updated, but obviously, an awful lot is being postponed, cancelled or changed right now.
There appear to be a lot of competing stories around how the numbers 420 got associated with smoking cannabis. But either way, the 420 number has stuck, and so, I couldn’t miss out on a numerically relevant /Tuesday Ten, could I?
Already back ’round to a new month, and we’re hurtling through summer. First Tuesday of the new month, then, so time for the best tracks, and there are a lot of them this time around. Why? The autumn release schedule is, it seems, rather crowded this year.
Part four of my monthly rundown this year of tracks from 1996 that broadly, I still love now.
Another month, ten more new songs you should hear. New bands, old bands, returning bands. You can hear eight of the ten songs on the playlists below, but a little frustratingly not all of them appear on one playlist.
So, last week I covered “Bad Sex”. This week, it is the better side. The songs that I actually see as being sexy.
So after a couple of weeks of work, here are my top twenty albums of the 90s. There is again a Spotify playlist accompaniment to it, which is this time missing four entries, which with it being the top twenty is a little frustrating…
Firstly, further to last week, can I also suggest that following an advert for this seen at the weekend, that there is a seperate circle of hell reserved for it?
Over halfway, and we’re into the Top 100.
As I said last week, I have suddenly had a short flush of inspiration for these Tuesday Tens at the moment. This one has taken me weeks to collate, gave me lots of ideas, and perhaps even more music to re-evaluate. This week it's about debut albums, and in particular ones I really like or […]
A few weeks ago I covered ten of my favourite 80s albums. The 90s were the decade where I seriously got into music, and because of the disparate genres I listen to, there is simply no way that I can narrow this down to ten. So, my favourite albums of the 90s is split into […]
