/Tuesday Ten /552 /Private Investigations
I got so many suggestions for /Tuesday Ten /550, on the subject of the police, that I realised I had a second post to come from it too.

I conclude – well, kinda – the short song title series with four-letter-word song titles, and this one took a lot of work.
Last week was clothes, this week is…shoes. Often just as much a fashion statement as clothes, what you wear on your feet may see you interpreted immediately by passers-by as belonging to a particular cultural group or “tribe”. Others, mind, may not give a toss and just wear what is comfortable.
Continuing the process of wrapping up the last decade before it disappears too far into the rearview mirror, this is the sixth part of the best tracks of the 2010s. This has been an interesting, and memory-laden trip doing this list. I’ve dredged up a few memories, reconnected with a few songs I’d not heard […]
One of the more depressing elements – as if we needed any more of them – of the current COVID-19 pandemic has been the rush to conspiracy and misinformation. It’s understandable, in a way – find a way to try and deal with what feels like an impossible situation – but some of those taking […]
Weirdly, I don’t think I’ve ever actually been to the circus. I’ve been to funfairs, I’ve seen clowns perform elsewhere, but even as a kid never set foot in a big top. I’ve seen them enough in film and on TV, mind, to know that maybe, just maybe, I’m not missing too much.
It is perhaps fitting that, despite the warm sunshine of this week, I’m covering a darker subject on World Goth Day, and thus, this playlist is one for the darkness than the daytime. But then, nightmares aren’t meant to be an enjoyable affair.
Another Friday, another round-up. As always this is a look at upcoming releases, relevant music news and upcoming events and gigs worth spending some of your time at. It is by no means an exhaustive list, and I’m always on the lookout for more to include.
Next week marks ten years since I began the Tuesday Ten series, at the end of March 2007. I was 28 then, and much has changed in the decade since.
I actually started this 80s rundown a couple of years back, but life and other things have rather got in the way. So, a little bit of spare time has allowed me to get this finished. Without further ado, then, let’s get on with it.
This week, my Tuesday Ten series goes in a new direction – as I’ve not written it. A few weeks ago, I posted an innocent post on Facebook asking my friends what they considered their perfect albums…and got an avalanche of suggestions. Over 100 comments and 150 suggested albums later, I thought it might be […]
This month – January 2013 – marks an important transport anniversary, the 150th anniversary of the first London Underground line, therefore the 150th anniversary of the first underground system in the world. It is kinda hard to imagine what an earth London would be like without it’s dense and complex transport system, and so to […]
During 2011 I bought an awful lot of albums. at least 75, in fact. And so many that some that might have made it in a normal year ended up being missed off this list. So there may well be a “what I overlooked” post at the end of the year, just to ensure that […]
A new month, a new roundup of new and not-so-new tracks I think you should hear.
It was, of course, Father’s Day this Sunday just gone, and for this week’s /Tuesday Ten I thought it appropriate to use this theme. I think my voracious appetite for music comes from my dad – ever since I can remember there has been a steady flow of “new” music into the house, in a […]
So that can only mean that it’s time for me to do another Tuesday Ten – I haven’t done one in a while. And this week’s is all the fault of Infest, really – and more to the point their announcements last week.
