/Tuesday Ten /612 /Tracks of the Month /Oct-25
The last /Tracks of the Month of the year has come around quickly – from the beginning of December, of course, I’ll be posting /Countdown /2025 over four weeks as I look at the best music of the year.

A few more weeks closer to the end of the year, and we’re now starting to see new releases for 2026 announced already… This post is a roundup of (relevant to this site) new and upcoming music, a nod to upcoming events and livestreams both from this website and others, and also a catchup of […]
It is the first Bandcamp Friday of the autumn, and don’t I know about it, judging on the groaning inbox this morning, and the large number of releases and release announcements recently. Also, the events page has had a significant revamp (links below). This post is a roundup of (relevant to this site) new and […]
The weather has improved, Livestreams are back from me, (still) who knows what the future holds. In addition, I’ve overhauled the events page in a big way, so see the link further down for that. Livestreams and waiting for new releases seem to be the order of the day, for now, still, so I continue […]
It’s Bandcamp Day again today (although I hear this might be the last one), so again, there are quite a few releases today. In addition, I’ve overhauled the events page in a big way, so see the link further down for that. Livestreams and waiting for new releases seem to be the order of the […]
Not for the first time, today I’m digging back into my original notes for a new /Tuesday Ten. I’ve actually been planning to write about this for years but hadn’t had the inspiration or the songs for it, until I finally dug it out of the “to do” pile and offered it out to my […]
Continuing the process of wrapping up the last decade before it disappears too far into the rearview mirror, this is the fourth part of the best tracks of the 2010s. This has been an interesting, and memory-laden trip doing this list. I’ve dredged up a few memories, reconnected with a few songs I’d not heard […]
We keep going in the lockdown. There are new releases, and still new music is coming through, and buying music right now is the only way we can help. The events listing is still being updated, but obviously, an awful lot is being postponed, cancelled or changed right now.
As a number of people in comment and meme form have joked this past week or two, this isn’t the dystopian future we were promised. But it’s the one we’ve got, and it is remarkable how certain outlooks have changed. Certain political policies that were ridiculed just three months ago have become instantly popular – […]
Onto week two of /Countdown/2019 on amodelofcontrol.com, and this week I’m looking at the best tracks of the year. These might be the singles, they might be album tracks, they might be one-offs. But all of them are songs I love in one way or another, and they aren’t all necessarily songs that fall within […]
Back to the usual routine of weekly Friday posts, containing new music or events to consider. This is the usual amodelofcontrol.com round-up, of new music coming your way this week and soon, as well as a look at the events and gigs in the future, and finally nods to any other notable news that affects […]
As what has been an exceptionally trying month comes to a close, I’m finishing off October with what may well be the last /Tracks of the Month round-up of 2019 – this time next month I’ll be beginning the usual end-of-year-coverage on /Countdown/2019, and I’ve still got quite a bit of thinking to do around […]
Back after an unexpected week away – so let’s look at things to distract us, either by way of new music or events to consider. This is the usual amodelofcontrol.com round-up, of new music coming your way this week and soon, as well as a look at the events and gigs in the future, and […]
It’s Friday, therefore time for the usual amodelofcontrol.com round-up of new music coming your way this week and soon, as well as a look at the events and gigs in the future, and finally nods to any other notable news that affects artists and music that I cover here.
This year’s statistics – I saw 51 days worth of gigs and 156 live sets. It featured 140 different bands, and I saw sixteen twice – and all that lot were in two countries (England and Belgium) and four different cities (London, Bradford, Leeds and Sint-Niklaas).
There are two Tuesday Tens today for a good reason. Partly because Tuesday Ten: 349 – this month’s tracks of the month – was unavoidably pushed back last week due to other things going on, but also because this post was so specific to today. That’s because today are the mid-term elections in the US, […]
All it took was arriving in Bradford on Friday, and I knew that I still loved this festival. There was that familiar buzz of anticipation as we stepped off the platform, looking forward to the fun to come, however this year was tinged of course with a bittersweet sadness over what was going to be […]
What has become affectionately known as #industrialsummercamp kicked off this weekend just gone with Terminus in Calgary. It has become something of a thing in recent years that I usually try and make at least one of the North American festivals (Festival Kinetik (MontrĂ©al) in 2011, then Cold Waves (Chicago) in 2014, 2015 and 2016), […]
Back from Whitby, and straight back onto the regular programming here on amodelofcontrol.com.
