We keep going amid the lockdown. There are new releases, and still, new music coming through, and buying music right now is the only way we can help. The events listing is still being updated, but obviously, an awful lot is being postponed, cancelled or changed right now.

/This Week/New Releases
Firstly, I missed this last week but well worth catching up on – the punishing new release from The Peoples Republic of Europe, the brilliantly-titled OK Doomer.
Out today are: the bleak beauty of Forever Blue by A.A. Williams, and the first new album from industrialists Be My Enemy in a while, All That I Love, I Destroy. Also, the relentless <PIG> release schedule continues with another remix album, Stripped & Ripped, while GOLD have been busy during lockdown, and out today is The Archive Sessions, a collation of demos of songs old and new.
There are a few notable singles out today, too. Interface release a new version of Never Say Farewell, one of the greatest tracks from the stellar Electronic Saviors series (and indeed was recently featured in Countdown/2010s/Tracks at #125) – it gets a new recording and reissue today as the first of an occasional run of singles from that series.
In addition, This Is Radio Silence have also been looking back, with Two For Joy (2020 RDX Versions), while Ruby continues the look back at her debut album as it approaches 25 years old, with Heidi (Fondue Mix) released today. While Lesley Rankine’s old band Silverfish appear to have their Fat Axl album rights back. Hopefully a re-issue in time?
/This Week/Upcoming Releases
New announcements of note this week.
James Dean Bradfield of the Manics has announced his latest album, Even In Exile, a collection of songs around the life and death of Chilean activist and singer Victor Jara (out on 14-Aug). Well worth watching, by the way, if you want to know more about Jara, is the documentary about him on Netflix.
Into September, and The Ocean have announced Phanerozoic II: Mesozoic | Cenozoic, out on 25-Sep. The epic first single Jurassic | Cretaceous – it’s over thirteen minutes long – features vocals from Katatonia’s Jonas Renkse. Out a few days later on the last day of September is the long-awaited new album from Bootblacks, Thin Skies.

Obviously things have rather changed right now, and I’m updating events as they are postponed or cancelled, and also including relevant Livestreams as they are announced.
This weekly listing has now seen a significant overhaul, and has moved over to a Shareable calendar format that is embedded below. You can add it to your own calendar views if you wish (GCal link, iCal link), and then you will get dynamic updates as I get them. Otherwise see the embedded calendar below.
If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above.

Look out for /Tuesday Ten/416, and hopefully the first in the next tranche of interviews in the /Talk Show Host series.
There are a number of Livestreams hosted by /amodelofcontrol.com coming up, too – the updated list is always here. The next one, though, on Thursday is /Stormblast/133.
