Welcome to the Future: 073: Events, gigs and new release round-up 01-March 2019

It’s Friday, therefore time for the usual amodelofcontrol.com round-up of new music coming your way this week and soon, as well as a look at the events and gigs in the future, and finally nods to any other notable news that affects artists and music that I cover here.

transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – had begun the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes here. The latest episode was released a few months ago (transmission: 012). transmission: 013 will be out as soon as I have the time to rebuild the whole damned thing…

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the new Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”).

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

New and Upcoming Releases this week

Firstly, one I meant to mention last week and time got the better of me. Kill II This, who recently reformed and played a handful of shows, have released a second new song in the form of Coma Karma, and it’s great. There is an album to come and a handful of live dates later in the year.

Disturbance is the first Test Dept. album in twenty years, and a review is in the works for this site as we speak. Appropriately enough on St David’s Day, Welsh psych-stoner-doom band Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard return with their new album Yn Ol I Annwn, and having been listening to it for the past month, I can confirm that it’s exceptional.

Elsewhere, there is unexpected new Run Level Zero, a new Perc EP – the marvellously-titled Three Tracks to Send to Your Ghost Producer, and a cracking new compilation from Glitch Mode – Now That’s What I Call Angry Robot Music 2019. There is also the new album from Jean-Marc Lederman, 13 Ghost Stories, that looks genuinely intriguing.

Finally, the excellent band The Golden Age of Nothing release their new album Ten Thousand Hours today (the vinyl release has been delayed by a month).

In upcoming new material, Laibach have revealed the first song from their soundtrack to Iron Sky: The Coming Race, and I do wonder if we might hear it tonight at the London gig.

Finally, there is new Swans on the way, as the usual acoustic fund-raising release has been announced for it this week.
