It’s Friday, therefore time for the usual amodelofcontrol.com round-up of new music coming your way this week and soon, as well as a look at the events and gigs in the future, and finally nods to any other notable news that affects artists and music that I cover here.

/This Week/New Releases
One intriguing release this week is a new EP from a collective (or industrial supergroup, your call) by the name of The Joy Thieves, whose EP This Will Kill That is well worth a listen – more on this, and a few other releases I’m mentioning today, on /Tuesday Ten/374 next week. Also of particular note today is the new album from Heilung, Futha, which builds on their previous work but at points has a rather more laid-back feel. The epic closing track Hamrer Hippyer is the astounding highlight, though.
As we continue to wait for the fifth Dead When I Found Her album, Michael Holloway has a new IDM side-project under the name TV HWY. The album Starship Interiors is pretty good, too.
Catching up on a few albums released in the past week, too: The excellent new Syd.31 album Walk Amongst Rebels (reviewed on here recently on /But Listen/161), the intriguing and somewhat experimental noise-rock album Schlagenheim from black midi, and a sprawling new album from I Hate Models, L’Âge Des Métamorphoses.
/This Week/Upcoming Releases
I should have mentioned this before, but the excellent Interface return with album Where All Roads Lead on 09-August, and new single Outside Looking In is out today. Another US band with a new single out now is the up-and-coming Wingtips, whose new video is for Deaf Pursuit, with the album Exposure Therapy joining the already lengthy queue of albums released on 23-August.
Breakout Icelandic band Of Monsters and Men return at the end of July with their new album Fever Dream, their first in four years. New single Alligator is excellent, too.
While in surprising return news, Cold are back with a new single and album, while the new Korn single You’ll Never Find Me is surprisingly excellent (and album The Nothing follows on 13-Sep, the same date as the new Cold album The Things We Can’t Stop).
