Another Friday, another round-up. As always this is a look at upcoming releases, relevant music news and upcoming events and gigs worth spending some of your time at. It is by no means an exhaustive list, and I’m always on the lookout for more to include.

New and Upcoming Releases this week
There has been something of an avalanche of new release news this week, as well as some notable releases today.
First, the releases today. Anna von Hausswolff releases her extraordinary new album Dead Magic today, while The Breeders return with their first new album in a decade (All Nerve). Then the quirky, international group Superorganism release their self-titled debut, and Street Sects and portrayal of guilt have released a brutal split 7″.
Onto the long list of release announcements: there is to be a new Ladytron album – their first in seven years (you can fund via PledgeMusic), and the first new track from it was released yesterday. In addition Pendulum are also releasing their first album in seven years, too in the form of The Reworks. Quite what this is – I have a hunch it might be remixes or re-recorded songs – hasn’t been confirmed.
Yet another return – although long since trailed – has been confirmed this week with the first Belly album in twenty-three years confirmed as DOVE, while industrial-rock band Sulpher have confirmed their second album, due in the summer (and seventeen years after their debut). The first single from it, Take A Long Hard Look, comes 16-March.
Emperor frontman Ihsahn releases his latest solo album Àmr on 04-May, and the first single is Arcana Imperii.
I featured the hotly-tipped Wire Spine last week on Tuesday Ten: 323, and that song, the excellent Burn You, now has a video, while the excellent Bloody Knives have a new album coming too, and the first song from it is New Machines
There’s more – Matt Hart’s next EP is Chaos Rising 2, and is now up for pre-order, while not my bag, as many of you know, but VNV Nation release new album Noire in October, and are doing seven UK dates early in 2019.
Finally, Laibach have a spectacular-looking box-set coming called Laibach Revisited. In an interesting move they are simply asking for expressions of interest at this stage, rather than money upfront (and yes, I’ve registered).

Other Things
This week Infest added V▲LH▲LL (!) and SΛRIN (!) to the line-up.
Over in North America, Terminus Festival in Calgary have begun announcing what looks to be a fascinating line-up, while time constraints meant I didn’t get to mention this last week: Cold Waves VII, across three weekends in September, goes to New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. After a year away last year, I’m fully intending on being in Chicago again this year.
In other tour news, Author & Punisher and Trepaneringsritualen have also announced some live dates: 28-May London Electrowerkz / 29-Glasgow Nice n Sleazy / 30 Manchester Rebellion, while one interesting announcement this week has been a new project from Jean-Marc Lederman and Jean-Luc de Meyer.
Worth reading elsehwere: CHVRCHES on their new album (and you can hear another new song here), while in the aftermath of Ethan Kath’s defamation suit being dismissed, this piece where Zola Jesus interviews Alice Glass is well worth reading.
