/Welcome to the Future/108/Events, gigs and new release round-up/06-Dec 2019

Back to the usual routine of weekly Friday posts, containing new music or events to consider. This is the usual amodelofcontrol.com round-up, of new music coming your way this week and soon, as well as a look at the events and gigs in the future, and finally nods to any other notable news that affects artists and music that I cover here.

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/016, the second part of the letter L. /transmission/018 will follow soon.

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/This Week/New Releases

A note about the releases that I feature here. This has never been intended to cover every single release in that week. It is more about highlighting notable releases, by either bands that I’ve long written about, artists that I’m intrigued by, or simply music that I like – and by extension that my readers may like.

Catching up on last week, too. Last week saw the release of the first new Misery Loves Co. album in nearly twenty years, and the good news is that Zero is excellent – a good balance between the styles that the band have shifted through previously. Other releases last week included Death Atlas from Cattle Decapitation and a new EP from Prong, the Age of Defiance EP. I also missed the excellent new Chrome Corpse album Anything That Moves, which warrants a mention here.

New releases this week include The Dead Light, the latest album from British Black Metallers Fen, and New York industrial/noise-rock curios Pop. 1280 have returned from hiatus with Way Station.

Finally, there is also the new Slighter Remix album Exogenous, and a new CONFORMCO release, Consumer Holiday Product / Believe It.

/This Week/Upcoming Releases

Coming next week – a new release from Dogtablet (Jared Louche and Martin King from Pigface, among others), as well as Darker Matter by Comaduster.

Coming in the new year – Greg Dulli’s first solo album, and a new album from Wrangler, A Situation.
