/Tuesday Ten/486/Lightbringer
Despite being someone that is part of the wider dark subculture, I love the coming of the light that is Spring. The longer days, the warmer temperatures, and the ability to get outdoors more.
Now ten years old and counting, my regular series of Tuesday posts takes in new music and sometimes rather random categories.

An intriguing, and sometimes busy, first month in my new job has seen a fair bit of travel, and thus time to listen to new music (as well as old favourites). So here we go with this month’s /Tracks of the Month. [cardoza_facebook_like_box] /Tuesday Ten/485/Tracks of the Month /Subject /Tracks of the Month /Playlists /Spotify […]
This week, what started out as a quick round-up of the best music I was listening to at the time (not necessarily new music initially), thanks to a request from another user on Livejournal, reaches fifteen years of posts.
Watching helplessly as the world lurches from one crisis to another, most recently the appalling, unwarranted and illegal invasion of Ukraine by Russia, has not done much for the mind. Especially when I hear the politicians here in the UK yet again conflating everything with winning a war – to my ears, the worst kind […]
I’ve done a lot of driving lately, both north to see my Dad (who is happily now recovering, and out of Intensive Care), and more recently to a few meetings as I’ve begun to get into the swing of things in my new job. So, a variety of playlists (and 6 Music) have been my […]
Going up, or going down? This week is about songs that do one, the other, or in a couple of cases, both. And not, necessarily, are directions involved.
It has been a chaotic, busy month, as we’ve dealt with my father in hospital (still, although he’s now recovering at last), my wife being ill with tonsilitis, and me preparing to start my new job (today). But even among all of that, I’ve managed to find time to write about another bumper batch of […]
It will not have escaped the notice of British and north-west European readers that there’s been a bit of Weather this week. Indeed, since the Met Office introduced names for major storms, it is the first time that three such storms have swept through the UK within seven days.
Frustration at lack of progress, a lack of things being done, at work colleagues, at slow people on the street in front of me. Oh yes, I perhaps have had a habit of showing my frustration all too readily over the years (and it’s something I’m trying not to do in future). So, needless to […]
This week’s /Tuesday Ten comes with a content warning for discussion of depression and suicide.
These past few weeks have been a bit of a nightmare away from writing about music (my father has been, and still is, very ill in hospital), and perhaps, giving myself a bit of a distraction in writing about music again is what I need.
For the majority of my life, I’ve never really lived in the country. I’ve always been in urban environments, where the nearest green space is a local park, and the only wildlife I got to see were urban birdlife, or urban foxes for the most part.
My /Tuesday Ten series began in March 2007, initially as an attempt to round up the best tracks of each month for my friends, but swiftly gained a life of its own. This post is to provide a list of all of the /Tuesday Ten entries so far, with links to each. A database of […]
For the first of my subject-based /Tuesday Ten posts in 2022, I’m picking up on a suggestion thread that I did in the weeks before Christmas, and had got me thinking.
A new year, and a new look for my posts on /amodelofcontrol.com, for the most part, a case of tidying up things and getting a cleaner style.
This week marks the end of /Tuesday Tens for 2021 (they will resume in the new year), as I prepare to round up what has been a very busy year in the ever-widening corner of music that this website covers.
Over recent posts in the past month or so, I’ve been working with the shortest one-word song titles we could think of. There was only one way I could go after that, and that was longer.
…and just like that, this is the last /Tracks of the Month roundup for 2021. I’ll be beginning /Countdown/2021 in less than a month, looking at the best music of the year, and while this might be the last ten tracks I feature during the year, there will no doubt be something else amazing released […]
I conclude – well, kinda – the short song title series with four-letter-word song titles, and this one took a lot of work.
Back on my current series this week, as I move onto three-letter song titles. This was where things got easier.
