Another Friday, another round-up. As always this is a look at upcoming releases, relevant music news and upcoming events and gigs worth spending some of your time at. It is by no means an exhaustive list, and I’m always on the lookout for more to include.

transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has resumed the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes here. The latest episode was released this week (transmission: 011), and transmission: 012 will be out before Infest.
You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the new Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”).
In a bit of a departure from my previous work, I presented at Nine Worlds last week, looking at the links between various areas of relevant “geek culture” and music. Expect a version of the presentation next week as Tuesday Ten: 341 – and if you’d like me to talk elsewhere along similar lines (each talk will be deliberately different, as there is a lot to cover!), use the contact details below.
If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).
New and Upcoming Releases this week
There are various new and recent releases to catch up with.
Recent releases first, and things you should give a listen to: Kathryn Joseph’s exceptional From Where I Wake The Want Is, Klammer’s You Have Been Processed, and Dirty K unexpectedly return with The Lowest Level of Loyalty.
Then, Rabbit Junk released a new remix album yesterday (Modified Mortality), and Daddybear (yep, another Caustic side-project) released new track Raw God also.
I should also have mentioned the recent new GoFight album Tokyo Sexwale, and the new Lead Into Gold album The Sun Behind The Sun, too.
Other upcoming things: there is indeed a new Aphex Twin EP coming (be warned – the video is trippy as shit and is in no way suitable for photosensitive epilepsy sufferers). Then there is a new In Strict Confidence single Mercy at the end of the month (with a new album to come), while there is a new Pig Destroyer album (Head Cage) next month, followed by a new Author & Punisher album Beastland.
In re-issue news, the twentieth anniversary of their legendary The Three EPs release means a whole new set of Beta Band re-issues, but more importantly an exhibition in N19 that covers their career. Starts next month I believe. As well as all that, Apoptygma Berzerk are re-issuing their debut Soli Deo Gloria for it’s twenty-fifth anniversary.

Other Things
Ticketbastard in doing something right shock – but I can’t help but feeling that there is a reason for this that isn’t altruistic, and I suspect it is brought to you by the words “upcoming regulation”.
I mean, I know there are additional costs in promoting, packaging and distribution, to name just three things, but musicians are only getting 12% of the music industry revenue? Something doesn’t seem quite right there.
While confusion seems to reign over the future of the Lock Tavern in Camden. Initially announced as
“closing”, the new owners apparently are keeping it open, but what does seem clear is that they aren’t using the existing promoters – you know, the ones that have made the place such a success.
Finally, the Goodbye Horses singer has been tracked down at last.
