Another Friday, another round-up. As always this is a look at upcoming releases, relevant music news and upcoming events and gigs worth spending some of your time at. It is by no means an exhaustive list, and I’m always on the lookout for more to include.

New and Upcoming Releases this week
There isn’t much out this week, as it goes, but certainly worth a look are the lavish Wire re-issues of their first three albums (out today, and the new Aidan Moffat & RM Hubbert album Here Lies The Body.
Various other releases have broken cover this week, too. The first new Nine Inch Nails track from the new EP was released, and the first new track from Orbital’s first album in six years is also now available.
Then there is a new Them Are Us Too release coming, which are tracks from what would have been their second album, completed after the sad death of Cash Askew.
Finally, Swans are re-releasing Soundtracks for the Blind this summer – including in an epic-looking four vinyl box. Now, about that Burning World re-issue (as it’s now the only one not so treated, I think…)…

Other Things
You all know about the return of The Dresden Dolls to London now, right? Details here.
While joining Agent Side Grinder on the BIMFest 2018 line-up is Covenant, doing a “vintage” set.
Elsewhere, sad news is that one of the pioneers of the modern avant-garde in rock has died: Glenn Branca.
A couple of interesting articles worth reading, too: firstly, Who Watches the Watchmen? Pitchfork on the flaws in Spotify’s new policies around “hateful conduct”. While I’m not especially happy about Google Play Music getting the boot, either, and using blockchain for gig tickets?
