Another Friday, another round-up. As always this is a look at upcoming releases, relevant music news and upcoming events and gigs worth spending some of your time at. It is by no means an exhaustive list, and I’m always on the lookout for more to include.

New and Upcoming Releases this week
Not a great deal out this week, aside from the new Haujobb live compilation Alive (there is an amodelofcontrol.com article on this coming soon), and Zola Jesus releasing OKOVI: Additions, as an add-on to the exceptional parent album from last year.
Early next week the excellent RELIC release their new Social Drift EP (10-Apr). Further ahead, there is a new album from The Body on 11-May (the excellently titled I Have Fought Against It, But I Can’t Any Longer), and a new Oneohtrix Point Never album in June.
Also, the first new Agent Side Grinder single since the major line-up changes comes on 27-April.

Other Things
This week Infest added Empirion to the line-up.
In other festival news, Cold Waves has knocked it out of the park this year, and tickets go onsale later today. Chemlab return, doing all of Burn Out At the Hydrogen Bar and C-Tec return too. The rest of the line-up is stellar, too, and amodelofcontrol.com will be reporting back from the Chicago edition in September.
In slightly surprising news, an announcement of Pitchshifter gigs appeared last Sunday (they are back for a run of gigs in November, celebrating twenty years since the release of their landmark album www.pitchshifter.com), and is legit – as I have tickets. Find them in the usual places, details on the PSI facebook page.
While as Fear Factory have some downtime again, Dino Cazares is apparently busy on a new industrial project, with some interesting collaborators.
A few interesting pieces to read, too: “How to be a responsible music fan in the age of streaming”, a marvellous piece about the use of calypso music in Beetlejuice, and also a lovely piece on Music has the right to children, the exceptional and otherworldly Boards of Canada album.
