Brace for WONKageddon! A 9 hour, 8 DJ spectacular live on Twitch from a professional DJ studio in the heart of Birmingham.
The line up is packed with incredible talent from across England’s dark party scene, all have crates brimming with every genre, ready to WONK hard and WONK fast for nine solid hours of musical mayhem!
The entire line up are generously gifting their time and talent to help raise funds for an amazing local charity – Journey LGBT+ Asylum Group. A support group for people from the LGBTQIA+ community settling in the West Midlands and navigating the asylum process.
Migration is a normal part of human existence, but more prevalent as time passes is the need for people to do so due to hostile environments.
Whether due to war, violence, climate change, natural disaster or many other reasons. Us welcoming people to a place of safety and settle in their new home is vital, especially when their identity may be part of the reason they had to flee their home.
Journey make this distressing and difficult time a little easier with practical support, and a place to re-find joy and belonging within the queer community.
In a time of such great division and when much of the messaging around migration is so toxic, it felt like the right time to dig deep, throw together an awesome event and see what you lot have to offer this great organization and their work.
The event is free to enjoy by watching direct on the CharlieOctoGirl Twitch page however the donations page will open on the day and even if you can’t join us for the stream (which we obviously hope you can!) you can still donate to support the cause to be part of the event!
