The Bug vs Big Brave

The Bug vs Big Brave, 2 x sound systems. 1 x room, Audience in
between. Sound carnage back and forth. An epic sonic face off
inspired by Jamaican sound system fire, this show comes off a
typically singular idea from The Bug.
Having become mutual musical admirers and subsequently good friends, Kevin Richard Martin aka The Bug and Big Brave had discussed the idea of playing shows together before in passing, but never made it happen until now.
And if that idea alone wasn’t enough, The Bug went one further by suggesting to Mat Ball recently at a Godspeed show in Brussels (where Ball was supporting GYBE), that perhaps it would be a sick idea to set up soundbattle style, and aim sonics back and forth for the duration of the show, from each end of The Garage’s room, with the audience placed in between. Martin had done this once previously, when he proposed the same concept to the ICA/London, who then agreed to bring in a second rig for a memorable Techno Animal vs T.Raumschmiere dual sound system clash, many moons ago…
For this show, The Bug will be powered by the heavyweight Sinai Sound System, in his ‘Machine’ mode, whilst Big Brave, now augmented by Liam Andrews of My Disco on bass, will bring their sizable amps/cab collection to fire up The Garage’s sizable in-house rig.
