LOCKS are a ‘Waits-infused’ folk band described by Chris Hawkins of BBC 6 MUSIC as ‘the dark angels of graveyard blues’. The string-based quartet conjure ballads and shanties with a hint of the macabre joining the sheer enjoyment of words and sound with a wonderful playfulness. Darker undercurrents combine with fables, folk tales and urban myths. LOCKS have garnered extensive radio play and major press coverage. There is a new EP -‘Tall Tales’ out in April 2023.

They formed officially in 2021 after a number of years playing in a variety of bands and projects across the UK and southern France, and that year, they released a self-produced album, 21=2a+7, which has since gone on to have plays on BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio.

MoreOfThem 🔗 instagram.com/@MoreOfThem_
One of the hottest prospects in London’s underground music scene right now, Malaysian non-binary artist moreofthem merge the energy of glitch-pop, with the angst of pop-punk, creating an electronic wall of sound that encapsulates the mixed feelings of navigating modern life.
Benji Taylor 🎥 http://bit.ly/3KRKuob
Benji Taylor is a London-based alternative musician known for his captivating and emotive sound. Originally from a small town in the south of England, Benji moved to London in his early 20s to pursue his passion for music.
Tippi McGarry 🎥 https://youtu.be/gVzW5KNivN0
Tippi McGarry is a singer songwriter from Norfolk with an acoustic sound and pop influences. Her debut single ‘Busy Folk’ at age 16 has over 30,000 listens on Spotify.
Kumala 🎥 http://bit.ly/3Yfm2A8
Kumala are Imi Smith, Alex Howis, Sam Frost, John Bergin & Will Edwards. Formed in the summer of 2020, they are a true product of the pandemic with their first batch of singles being written whenever they could get together during the multitude of lockdowns. The boys in the band had worked together in previous projects and decided it was time for something totally new. Alex sold his drums at the start of the pandemic, bought a laptop and a basic home studio and together they started writing, producing and experimenting.
Towards the end of the summer they were put in touch with Imi, who after studying at the Brit School and ICMP, a brief spell in a girl group and some work writing and recording vocals for various producers – joined Kumala. Her alternative R&B-influenced vocal style added the final ingredient to the sound, bringing both an energy and a calmness to the music. Their debut single (Lunar In The) Summertide was released on 27th August 2021, with ‘Love Me, Pray For Me’ and ‘Say Enough’ hot on its heels. Their debut EP ‘In Colour’ was released in March 2022 in time for the band’s first, sold out, headline show at The Grace in Islington and slots at festivals across the country, including at El Dorado’s Garden Stage. Their latest single ‘Nomads’ is out now!
Aubrey 🎥 https://youtu.be/Smp-rFjtnaI
Alt-Rock Trio from London. Stylings of Grunge and 90’s loud fuzzy sounds. Punchy, heavy and hooky tracks with fierce untamed vocals. Aubrey’s influences range as far as Garage, Punk and Shoegaze.
Vincent Christ 🎥 https://youtu.be/jPMfVj-i7Fg
Vincent’s electrifying model of post-punk delivers in intensity and urgency. Propulsive drums and feeling-first melodies are met with lyrics that are at once sardonic, poetic and oneiric. Vincent Christ is praxis, his prolific output and chameleonic style are beguiling. New EP ‘Galore’ presents VC at his most iconoclastic.
Baby 🎥 https://youtu.be/giDVN1f7JqQ
Started in his childhood bedroom on a busted old hand-me-down MacBook, Luke began making tunes under the name “BABY” during lockdown in an attempt to stay sane amongst the monotony of working-class suburban life. Inspired by the scrapbook mentality of music and art from British counter-culture, BABY encapsulates a range of genres – blending them into their own unique and captivating concoction of kitchen sink storytelling and D.I.Y beats.
