/Gig /Folkestone /Compass Music Presents: RIOT GULLL’s 1st Birthday

November 11, 2023 @ 19:00 - 22:30 GMT

🔥 RIOT GULLL’s 1st Birthday at Compass Music Festival: A Year in Review 🔥
Since its inception at The Chambers in November 2022, RIOT GULLL has been a stalwart advocate for women and gender minorities in alternative rock and post-punk genres. We’ve quickly become a cornerstone of feminist activism in the music scene, drawing a diverse crowd from across Kent and beyond.

🎪 Compass Music Festival and SKIES Album Launch 🎪
Part of the Compass Music Festival, taking place from 10-12 November in Folkestone’s Creative Quarter, RIOT GULLL’s 1st birthday bash at the Quarterhouse aims to spotlight new talent. Our first announced act is SKIES, a Folkestone-based duo that has garnered attention from BBC Introducing, Kendal Calling, and Spotify editorial playlists such as All New Rock. They bring a unique blend of rock, alternative, and pop to the stage. In a special milestone, SKIES will also be launching their debut album ‘Is It All In Our Heads?’ at this event, providing a local yet groundbreaking start to the festivities.

🪩 Riot Gulll Club Night 🪩
What about our trademark DJ sets? No worries, they’re still on. Female DJs will roll out the indie, rock, and post-punk anthems, but at a different venue this time. Ticket holders get priority for this afterparty.

🎶 Band Legacy 🎶
We’ve championed electrifying bands that are now making waves—HotWax, CLT DRP, Dream Nails, Shelf Lives, A Void, Loose Articles, Collars, and SUN. All of them debuted in Folkestone with us, underlining our knack for spotting talent—from other seaside music hotspots and beyond.

🎫 Tickets 🎫
We’ve introduced tiered tickets with super early-bird & advance purchase perks. We also have our usual concessions available for students, under-18s, and low-income individuals. Snag tickets early to show support and sustain this indie vibe.

🤝 Mutual Support 🤝
We’re committed to giving back. A pound from each ticket goes to the indispensable Folkestone Women’s Forum. They gave us a platform at their Take Up Space Festival last March, and now we’re returning the favour.

🎉 Props to Creative Folkestone 🎉
A big shout-out to Creative Folkestone’s Festival Fund, which backs the Compass Music Festival and supports our endeavour.
