We are pleased to say that one of the original Church of Madness DJs, Gwilym Games, is coming back to Reading for the night, after years of DJing various clubs across Wales, including Dead of Night, with our other guest, Adrian.
Doors: 8:30pm-3am
The nearest car park is Q-Park on Chatham street, about a minute from the venue. It is open all night, and secure. A slightly cheaper alternative is the Oracle car park, which is a longer walk, through town.
Pre-event drinking establishment of choice for local goths would be the Castle Tap where they serve an excellent selection of proper beers/ales/gins. This is on Castle hill, the bottom end of Carey Street.

Reading’s original goth/alternative club, raising generations of goths on whatever we felt was appropriate (or inappropriate) at the time has risen from the grave after the worldwide pandemic reminded us that friends are everything. The regular (and many of the guest) DJs have gone on to run other clubs or form bands across the UK, with many still active in the scene 20+ years later (Don’t do the maths!)
With past guests pulled from clubs across uk clubs as well as international celebrities Seize, Mark Jackson and Daniel Myer.
Since lockdown has eased we’ve taken the chance to finally pull Church of Madness out of it’s long retirement and regenerate into in it’s new quarterly Vs.. mode. It’s almost Church of Madness Turbo edition where our guests could be bringing music from anywhere and everywhere!
