/Welcome to the Future/193/Events, Livestreams and new releases 05-Nov 2021

Now away from the working week for a bit, it has given me time to start catching up. It is, again, Bandcamp Friday today, so along with last week’s releases, there’s an awful lot to cover today.

In the meantime, here’s the usual wrap of new music and suchlike this week.

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/024, which starts on the letter P. /transmission/025 will follow soon.

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/Releases out today or recently
Catching up on last week too means this is a long list.

Kontravoid / Faceless /Bandcamp
I missed this a few weeks back – the latest EP from the ever-brilliant Kontravoid.
Mastodon / Hushed and Grim /Official Artist Store
Another epic album from prog-metal titans Mastodon.
Tori Amos / Ocean to Ocean /Official Artist Store
Tori’s best album in years.
SPECTRES / Hindsight /Bandcamp
SPECTRES look back with a singles compilation.
Barry Adamson / Steal Away EP /Bandcamp
The new EP to accompany Adamson’s memoirs.
Emma Ruth Rundle / Engine of Hell /Bandcamp
A stark, stripped-back album that is dark as pitch.
Georgia Train / Needles and Pinches /Bandcamp
The Bitter Ruin singer releases an emotional new solo album.
GNOD / La Mort du Sens /Bandcamp
Describing this Salford collective as “rock” sells them so short. This new album is absolutely ferocious.
Headless Nameless / Ominus Spiritus /Bandcamp
Members of Encephalon strike out in a distinctly darkwave, gloomy style.
Stabbing Westward / I Am Nothing EP /Bandcamp
Ahead of their much-trailed new album in the new year – apparently now with the name Chasing Ghosts – Stabbing Westward have released an excellent new single, complete with a couple of remixes and a rework of an old favourite.
Andi / Randolph & Mortimer / Torque Force EP /Bandcamp
A belting split-EP from two industrial-techno-leaning titans.
Helix / Bad Dream EP /Bandcamp
Helix returns with a solid new EP.
daddybear feat. grabyourface / Hypnotic /Bandcamp
Matt Fanale returns with another single from his daddybear project
Ayria / Stranger Danger /Bandcamp
Ayria’s first single in a year – are we getting closer to a new album at last?
Aesthetic Perfection feat. Isaac Howlett / Save Myself /Bandcamp
An excellent collaborative single as Isaac Howlett of Empathy Test joins forces with Daniel Graves.
Damascus Knives / Ratio Strain / Ultra/Filth EP /Bandcamp
A fascinating-sounding split release from two West Coast industrial/noise acts.

A number of reissues, too:
LYCIA / COLD /Projekt Store
The landmark release from LYCIA gets a 25th (!) Anniversary release
Rotersand / Truth Is Fanatic /Dependent Store
Rotersand / Welcome To Goodbye /Dependent Store
The first two Rotersand albums get lavish vinyl reissues
Garbage / beautifulgarbage (20th Anniversary Edition) /Official Artist Store
Garbage’s third album gets a new release, and perhaps time has been kinder to this album.
Radiohead / KID A MNESIA /Bandcamp
Radiohead’s twin albums that changed them forever get an expanded, joint release.
Landscape Body Machine / Structure (25th Anniversary Remaster) /Bandcamp
Craig Huxtable’s original solo release gets an anniversary re-release.

/Upcoming releases announced this past week
19-Nov 2021 / Converge & Chelsea Wolfe / Bloodmoon: I /Bandcamp
Converge and Chelsea Wolfe join forces, and from what I’ve heard, this should be spectacular.
26-Nov 2021 / SUNN O))) / Metta, Benevolence BBC 6Music /Bandcamp
The legendary 6Music session gets a full release.
25-Feb 2022 / Spiritualized / Everything Was Beautiful /Bandcamp
Jason Pierce returns with more lush songs to bewitch us.

/Upcoming/Livestreams/Gigs/Club Nights/Events
Obviously, things change at short notice right now, and I’m updating events as they are postponed or cancelled, and also including relevant Livestreams as they are announced.

/amodelofcontrol.com continues to maintain an events calendar, but it has now moved to /amodelofcontrol.com/events – and is now a dynamic, searchable database, and you can add individual events to your own calendars. I’m currently fixing a couple of minor backend issues, so new events may not be added promptly, or be added sporadically.

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above. It goes without saying that any gig or club still in the listing is subject to change at short notice, or may not happen at all.
