/Welcome to the Future/190/Events, Livestreams and new releases 08-Oct 2021

Into October already? Christ this year is flashing past quickly. I’m now beginning to consider the best music of the year, with more yet to be released before the end of November.

In the meantime, here’s the usual wrap of new music and suchlike this week.

Thus, look out, in a few months time, for the usual /amodelofcontrol.com round-up of 2021 – /Countdown. I’ll be looking at the best albums, best tracks, and best compilations and re-issues, on the Tuesdays in December up to Christmas.

In the meantime, here’s what’s come out or been announced in the past week or two.

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/024, which starts on the letter P. /transmission/025 will follow soon.

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/Releases out today or recently
Another week off, and another bunch to catch up on.

ACTORS / Acts of Worship /Bandcamp
The long-awaited ACTORS album is an excellent release, building on what has come before but still sounding fresh and new.
Forma Tadre / Geiger’s Day /Bandcamp
Forma Tadre fills in some gaps with some previously unreleased material.
MANUFACTURA / Nothing Foretells Tomorrow /Bandcamp
The snarling nastiness of MANUFACTURA’s work has always been a turn-off for some, but that’s often the way with extreme music, right?
Ministry / Moral Hygiene /Bandcamp
Ministry have not looked great recently in their dumping of bands from their tours, which is a shame as the new album is surprisingly strong.
Katatonia / Mnemosynean /Bandcamp
The mighty Katatonia release a sprawling B-sides and rarities collection.
SCALPING / Flood Remixed /Bandcamp
The hotly-tipped SCALPING refashion their recent EP with some interesting and unexpected remixers.
The World is a Beautiful Place & I am No Longer Afraid to Die / Illusory Walls /Bandcamp
You know instantly from the band name what genre they are going to fall into, right?

/Upcoming releases announced this past week
15-Oct 2021 / Pankow / Never Trust A White Man /Audioglobe Store
EBM legends Pankow return with a new album.
12-Nov 2021 / IDLES / Crawler /Official Artist Store
An unexpected new album to follow up on the sometimes underwhelming ULTRA MONO.
28-Jan 2022 / EELS / Extreme Witchcraft /Official Artist Store
Mark Everett returns with his fourteenth album.

/Upcoming/Livestreams/Gigs/Club Nights/Events
Obviously, things change at short notice right now, and I’m updating events as they are postponed or cancelled, and also including relevant Livestreams as they are announced.

/amodelofcontrol.com continues to maintain an events calendar, but it has now moved to /amodelofcontrol.com/events – and is now a dynamic, searchable database, and you can add individual events to your own calendars. I’m currently fixing a couple of minor backend issues, so new events may not be added promptly, or be added sporadically.

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above. It goes without saying that any gig or club still in the listing is subject to change at short notice, or may not happen at all.
