/Welcome to the Future/186/Livestreams, Events and new releases 27-Aug 2021

The dawning of the August Bank Holiday should mean we’re heading north to Bradford once again, but the current state of things means that – even though we did have the chance to get some of the limited tickets – we reluctantly decided that staying home and watching Stay-In-Fest from the comfort of our own home was the right way. Look out for a handful of interviews that I’ve contributed to the day’s events, too.

In the meantime, here’s the usual wrap of new music and suchlike this week.

Look out, in a few months time, for the usual /amodelofcontrol.com round-up of 2021 – /Countdown. I’ll be looking at the best albums, best tracks, and best compilations and re-issues, on the Tuesdays in December up to Christmas.

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/024, which starts on the letter P. /transmission/025 will follow soon.

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/Releases out today or recently

CHRVCHES / Screen Violence /Amazon
Reviews are suggesting a return to form after the over-produced mainstream grab that was Love Is Dead, and the belting singles suggest as much.
Hooded Menace / The Tritonus Bell /Bandcamp
Finnish doomy death metal, with a distinct 80s Heavy Metal feel. It’s great.
Halsey / If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power /Artist Store
This striking artist has collaborated with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, and the results are fascinating.
Blush Response / RECONSTITUTION /Bandcamp
Out early next week, the latest release from industrial-techno powerhouse Blush Response.

/Upcoming releases announced this past week

29-Oct 2011 / Rotersand / Truth Is Fanatic /Bandcamp
29-Oct 2011 / Rotersand / Welcome To Goodbye /Bandcamp
Rotersand’s first two – and still remarkable and ageless – albums get the lavish reissues they have long deserved.

/Upcoming/Livestreams/Gigs/Club Nights/Events
Obviously, things change at short notice right now, and I’m updating events as they are postponed or cancelled, and also including relevant Livestreams as they are announced.

/amodelofcontrol.com continues to maintain an events calendar, but it has now moved to /amodelofcontrol.com/events – and is now a dynamic, searchable database, and you can add individual events to your own calendars. I’m currently fixing a couple of minor backend issues, so new events may not be added promptly, or be added sporadically.

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above. It goes without saying that any gig or club still in the listing is subject to change at short notice, or may not happen at all.
