/Welcome to the Future/184/Livestreams, Events and new releases 06-Aug 2021

As I’ve noted previously my livestreams, like others, are beginning to wind down. In addition, I’ve overhauled the events page in a big way, so see the link further down for that. There are still some things going on, as well as the usual slew of releases, so I continue to wrap up both, as well as the tentative announcements for new in-person events and gigs.

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/024, which starts on the letter P. /transmission/025 will follow soon.

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/Releases out today or recently
Back to Bandcamp Friday again today, so there are a few releases to mention for that (there are many more generally, but I’m afraid I don’t have the time to cover them all!).

Dot Allison / Heart-Shaped Scars /Bandcamp
I nearly missed this one – a gentle, folksy-leaning album from Scottish singer Dot Allison (once of the much-loved One Dove, long since a solo artist) that is her first album in over a decade.
Information Society / ODDfellows /Bandcamp
US electronic-rock-experimentalist veterans INSOC are back with their latest album
LINGUA IGNOTA / SINNER GET READY /Bandcamp
The striking vocalist LINGUA IGNOTA returns with another album of frankly shocking intensity.

3TEETH feat. Ho99o9 / Paralyze /YouTube
The first taste of the upcoming, as-yet-untitled fourth 3TEETH album bulldozes through the doors in typically powerful fashion, with assistance from sonic terrorists Ho99o9.
daddybear feat. grabyourface / Science Fiction /Bandcamp
Matt Fanale puts on one of his many hats again, this time his minimal EBM daddybear hat, and this is an excellent new single featuring the up-and-coming grabyourface (whose own recent album is excellent).
Curve / Cherry EP – Bootleg Series Vol 11 /Bandcamp
Dean Garcia continues his digging into the Curve DAT archives
Byronic Sex & Exile / Lessons From The Mountain /Bandcamp
Joel Heyes returns with his new EP.

/Upcoming releases announced this past week

31-Aug 2021 / Blush Response / RECONSTITUTION /Bandcamp
New Blush Response? Bring it on.
03-Sep 2021 / <PIG> / Pain Killer /Bandcamp
A new remix album from the Lord of Lard.
13-Sep 2021 / Crystal Geometry / Distressing Visions /Bandcamp
A new Crystal Geometry release too? Hell yeah.
23-Sep 2021 / LSD / The Fall EP /Bandcamp
Left Spine Down return, with a subtle name change.
01-Oct 2021 / ACTORS / Acts of Worship /Bandcamp
At last! The long-promised new ACTORS album has a release date.
08-Oct 2021 / The World is a Beautiful Place & I am No Longer Afraid to Die / Illusory Walls /Bandcamp
The band with the most post-rock name of all announced their new album this week.
13-Oct 2021 / Campbell-Mallinder-Benge / Clinker /Les Disques du Crépuscule
Another fascinating collaborative project involving Stephen Mallinder, that very much feels like a nod back to early-eighties Cabs.

/Upcoming/Livestreams/Gigs/Club Nights/Events
Obviously, things change at short notice right now, and I’m updating events as they are postponed or cancelled, and also including relevant Livestreams as they are announced.

/amodelofcontrol.com continues to maintain an events calendar, but it has now moved to /amodelofcontrol.com/events – and is now a dynamic, searchable database, and you can add individual events to your own calendars. I’m currently fixing a couple of minor backend issues, so new events may not be added promptly, or be added sporadically.

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above. It goes without saying that any gig or club still in the listing is subject to change at short notice, or may not happen at all.
