/Welcome to the Future/173/Livestreams and new releases 07-May 2021

It’s Bandcamp Day again today (although I hear this might be the last one), so again, there are quite a few releases today. In addition, I’ve overhauled the events page in a big way, so see the link further down for that. Livestreams and waiting for new releases seem to be the order of the day, for now, still, so I continue to wrap up both.

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/024, which starts on the letter P. /transmission/025 will follow soon.

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/Releases out today or recently
After Daylight / Waves of Destruction /Bandcamp
An excellent new release from this Nottingham post-rock band
Dawn Ray’d / Wild Fire /Bandcamp
A two-track release from this UK-based experimental Black Metal group
Philip Jeays / Blossoms & Bicycles /Bandcamp
The latest (double) album from the British Chanson Philip Jeays
Ganser / Look At The Sun EP /Bandcamp
One of two remix releases from excellent 2020 albums out today, the first is the long-awaited (and long-teased) Ganser remix EP, which sees some fascinating, unexpected artists tear apart and rebuild some of the highlights from the album.
Bootblacks / Thin Skies Remixed /Bandcamp
Announced with rather less warning is this remix album from the sleek Bootblacks album of last year.
Curve / Double Door Chicago 1998 – Bootleg Series Vol 9 /Bandcamp
I never had the pleasure of seeing Curve live, so the latest in the “bootleg series” from Dean Garcia is of Curve in Chicago, from 1998, with a hell of a setlist…

HEALTH x Nine Inch Nails / Isn’t Everyone /Bandcamp
Apparently a track from the upcoming DISCO 4 : Pt 2, this somehow manages to sound like both bands at the same time (and is the most menacing NIN have sounded in years).
Null Device / Red Right Hand /Bandcamp
Apparently a longtime live favourite, Null Device finally record their take on the Bad Seeds classic.

/Upcoming releases announced this week
17-May 2021 / Black Light Ascension / Flesh Ghosts /Bandcamp
London-based post-punk with their fourth album.
28-May 2021 / Die Krupps / Songs from the Dark Side of Heaven /Bandcamp
Die Krupps release a covers album
04-Jun 2021 / Blac Kolor / Times of Upheaval /Bandcamp
Another new album from Blac Kolor (the second this year!).

/Upcoming/Livestreams/Gigs/Club Nights/Events
Obviously, things change at short notice right now, and I’m updating events as they are postponed or cancelled, and also including relevant Livestreams as they are announced.

/amodelofcontrol.com continues to maintain an events calendar, but it has now moved to /amodelofcontrol.com/events – and is now a dynamic, searchable database, and you can add individual events to your own calendars.

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above. It goes without saying that any gig or club still in the listing is subject to change at short notice, or may not happen at all.
