/Welcome to the Future/122/Events, gigs and new release round-up/17-Apr 2020

We keep going amid the lockdown. There are new releases, and there is still new music coming through, and buying music right now is the only way we can help. The events listing is still being updated, but obviously, an awful lot is being postponed, cancelled or changed right now.

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/020, which concludes the letter M. /transmission/021 will follow soon.

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/This Week/New Releases

The big new release this week comes from Fiona Apple – Fetch the Bolt Cutters is her first new album in about eight years, and it has been well worth the wait. While out on Monday is the latest release of industrial noise powerhouse W.A.S.T.E., There Is No Redemption.

Released last week, after I went to press: Rodney Orpheus of the Cassandra Complex released his latest solo album, Places Beginning with N, and M‡яc∆ll∆ returned with CHIRAL.

New songs out this week: Bitter Ruin continue their tentative return with the quite lovely Rubble, there’s a Heavy Water Factory single Idiot Proof, and The Comet Line have released Sensible Shoes, the first track from the Tortoiseshell EP due on 22-May.

/This Week/Upcoming Releases

Now available to pre-order on Bandcamp is the new Empathy Test album Monsters, out 22-May. A review to follow on this site in the coming weeks.

Looking further ahead, Jean-Marc Lederman’s upcoming album Letters To Gods (And Fallen Angels) has another intriguing concept, and a host of guests – out 29-May. While Chicago post-punk/noise-rock band Ganser release Just Look At That Sky on 31-Jul.
The new single Lucky is an abrasive, scratchy beast.

/Upcoming/Gigs/Club Nights/Events

Obviously things have rather changed right now, and I’m updating events as they are postponed or cancelled, and also including relevant Livestreams as they are announced.

This weekly listing has now seen a significant overhaul, and has moved over to a Shareable calendar format that is embedded below. You can add it to your own calendar views if you wish (GCal link, iCal link), and then you will get dynamic updates as I get them. Otherwise see the embedded calendar below.

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above.
