/Welcome to the Future/117/Events, gigs and new release round-up/06-Mar 2020

A welcome to the many new readers of this page. This is the weekly Friday post, of new music coming your way this week and soon, as well as a look at the events and gigs in the future, and finally nods to any other notable news that affects artists and music that I cover here.

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/019, which continues on the letter M. /transmission/020 will follow soon.

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/This Week/New Releases

There’s quite a few notable releases over this week.

Concrete Lung returned with their first album in a while earlier in the week, with The Ecstasy Of Emptiness (a review is in the works for this), while Body Count lead the charge today with their exceptional new album Carnivore, and My Dying Bride return after a break with The Ghost of Orion, that feels more personal then before.

London industrial artist Matt Hart keeps up his brisk release schedule with new EP Tales of Terra: Triolith, the ever-interesting Phantogram release Ceremony, and Anna Calvi has a new look at her excellent album Hunter, in the form of Hunted.

/This Week/Upcoming Releases

The 2018 album of the year on /amodelofcontrol.com came from Promenade Cinema, and their keenly-awaited follow-up Exit Guides is out on 28-Mar.

While my wife’s least favourite band, American industrial-noise band W.A.S.T.E., return with There Is No Redemption this year, and there is a teaser video out that suggests that there is no let-up in their extreme sound. Bring it on!

Elsewhere: great news is that KANGA has signed to Artoffact, with an expanded version of the Eternal Daughter EP coming in April. Then, ex-Dillinger Escape Plan frontman Greg Puciato has released a killer new single, from his debut solo album Child Soldier: Creator of God coming later in the year – and the general feel is of a mechanised DEP (this is not a bad thing).
