Welcome to the Future: 053: Events, gigs and new release round-up 31-August 2018

Another Friday, another round-up. As always this is a look at upcoming releases, relevant music news and upcoming events and gigs worth spending some of your time at. It is by no means an exhaustive list, and I’m always on the lookout for more to include.

transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has resumed the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes here. The latest episode was released last week (transmission: 012), and transmission: 013 will be out in the next couple of weeks.

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the new Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”).

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

New and Upcoming Releases this week

Catching up on a couple of things from last week, first: Randolph & Mortimer released a new remix EP Hope Tragedy Myths Remixes, and In Strict Confidence returned last week with their new single Mercy – the new album, the curiously titled Hate2Love + Mercy is out in early October.

This week, the autumn releases begin in earnest. IDLES release their second album Joy As An Act of Resistance., Sulpher return, at last, with their second album , while not quite the same distance since her last album, but it’s still been a while, but Anna Calvi also returns today with Hunter. In addition to that, Mogwai release their latest soundtrack album Kin.

Oh, and PIG have released a new single, featuring Sasha Grey – That’s The Way (I Like It). The video has been hosted on Pornhub, which I suspect gives you an idea of how NSFW it will be.
